The Mariner Marblehead

The Mariner Marblehead is a licensed assisted living residence located in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Massachusetts Assisted Living Residences are certified rather than licensed and are generally required to meet specific standards for services and accommodations.

Who We Serve: Assisted Living Residences serve adults who need varying levels of assistance with daily living but wish to maintain as much independence as possible in a supportive residential setting.

Licensing: Certified by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.

Payment Options: In Massachusetts, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the PACE, Frail Elder Waiver. Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services or visit https://www.mass.gov/topics/masshealth to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. The Mariner Marblehead: A Wonderful Place to Call Home It's truly heartwarming to see my father thriving at The Mariner Marblehead! After five months in his beautiful new apartment, his positive adjustment is clear. This senior living community in charming Marblehead, Massachusetts, offers a rich, supportive, and engaging lifestyle. My father is adjusting so well. The community seamlessly blends modern luxury with Marblehead's historic maritime character, featuring classic New England architecture and inviting common areas like the maritime-themed lobby and cozy reading spaces. The attention to detail truly evokes the town's unique seaside charm. What makes The Mariner special is its vibrant community and dedicated staff. My father has become incredibly socially engaged since moving in, a wonderful change from being a recluse in his old house. The activities director consistently plans fun events that get residents involved and out of their apartments. The staff is genuinely nice, helpful, and quick to respond to any needs. I also appreciate that they keep in touch and are responsive when I reach out, which provides great peace of mind. Beyond the engaging social life, The Mariner Marblehead offers a comprehensive range of services and amenities. My father particularly loves the dining areas and the fun karaoke events. Residents also enjoy chef-prepared meals, scheduled transportation, and weekly housekeeping. Amenities include a full-service restaurant, private dining, a lounge, a café, a beauty salon, a health & wellness room, a library, a movie theatre, and a fitness center. Beautifully landscaped walking paths and gardens provide serene outdoor spaces. The location in Marblehead further enhances the living experience. This historic coastal town offers a unique sense of belonging, with its charming heritage, boutiques, galleries, and beautiful North Shore beaches. The Mariner's proximity to local amenities, including medical centers and places of worship, adds to residents' convenience and quality of life. In essence, The Mariner Marblehead delivers an exceptional lifestyle. It's a place where seniors can maintain independence while benefiting from secure services and a lively social atmosphere. It's truly wonderful that my father has found such a welcoming and enriching home here, and that he's adjusting so well! He loves his studio room shown in the video!

We moved my mother into the Mariner 5 weeks ago. She is adjusting really well to her new apartment there in the beautiful new building. She is very socially engaged since she moved in compared to the recluse she had become living on her own in her old house. The activities director always has something fun going on everyday to get the residence involved and out of their apartments. The staff is so genuinely nice and helpful and always quick to aid with any questions or needs that arise. The staff is also really great about keeping in touch with me and responsive when I reach out. My mother loves the dining areas and karaokee events they put on as well.

My father moved to the Mariner 6 months ago. He was very reluctant to go live there but he recently thanked me for finding the Mariner for him. He said "this is the best place and I am so grateful to live here. The staff and the residents are so friendly and it really feels like home." I live in Marblehead and stop by most days. It is so warm and welcoming. I have gotten to know the staff and many of the residents. Everyone is so friendly and outgoing from the moment you check in at the front desk. The food is excellent and I eat there a few times a week with my Dad. There are so many activities posted each day from painting, exercise classes, French classes, board games, shuffleboard, bocci, daily movies, field trips... Pretty much something for everyone. My father lived alone after my mother passed away a few years ago. He would sit alone watching tv most days and we worried so much about what he was eating and if he was taking his medications correctly. Now the amazing nursing staff come to give him his medications each day, and check in on him regularly. He is rarely in his room because he's out socializing and participating in the many activities offered, and he gets nutritious meals every day. The building is beautifully decorated and maintained both inside and out. My dad enjoys daily walks around the property admiring the flowers and landscaping. He enjoys sitting out on the patio in the summer and by the fireplace in the colder months reading every day. He is incredibly social and loves talking to everyone he passes. He calls himself "Lucky Tom" and now that is his nickname there and he is right, he's very lucky to live there. He has never been happier in his life and our family feels so relieved to know he is being so well cared for and loved.

We recently had to find a place for a dear friend who needed memory care. We wanted her close to home, and we researched all three facilities in our area. The Mariner stood out in every way. Not only is it beautiful; but the assistance and support we received from the person (Stacy B.) who first met with us and followed the whole process to the end was invaluable. A nice feature is that they have a beautiful outdoor garden area right in the memory care area that the residents can enjoy. They keep the residents engaged and truly seem to care about them. They have also given our friend her sense of purpose back and that's truly priceless. She loves everyone she encounters who works there and always tells us how kind everyone is and how much they all seem to really love what they do. Even though it was a stressful and difficult decision to make for someone else, we feel good knowing that the Mariner was definitely the best choice.

My wife has Alzheimer’s, I am a resident and this part of life is a tough circumstance for both of us. To be surrounded and interact with a professional, caring, nurturing and upbeat staff makes The Mariner a perfect sanctuary for us. We are involved in as many daily activities as we desire, we enjoy an always delicious ever changing menu and the conversations among residents highlight our late afternoons. You have a voice. We find the managers to be not only capable listeners, and capable communicators, but also capable of taking appropriate action. To be at the top of your professional and to constantly seek to improve is truly The Mariner’s defining accolade.
