First of all, let me say that I wouldn’t give Harmony even one star if that was possible. The reviews I read before securing a place for my mom here were a few years old. I regret to say, the place is not the same as it was described a few years ago. The reason? The workers!!! The aids are under trained. I was under the impression that there was a registered nurse there every day. Not true. Told to me by the RN ( Alison) who worked only M-F. This same RN pushed things off onto the therapy department to do for my mom. Therapy is completely separate from Harmony. The therapists even told us they were unhappy with what Alison did. I caught the aids falsifying Mom’s records and doctor’s orders not being followed. The help Mom received from the workers at Harmony was the bare minimum at best. So very disappointed! Couldn’t wait to get her out of there! I bet this never gets posted!
2022 was a challenging year for my family - both my parents needed to transition from their home of many years to an environment for seniors. Harmony was extremely supportive. All of the staff were kind and dedicated to the residents. Food was good, and their team was dedicated to continuous improvement. There was a good range of activities, and a wonderful feeling of community and compassion. While we enjoyed working with everyone, we were particularly impressed by the facility's director, Tyler - he is hard-working and takes the time to listen to residents' issues.
Renters beware!!! Harmony makes this place look good on the outside and what you think are answers to your prayers, of moving to a safe and compassionate living community, turns out to be a big fasad. However, I can only speak for Independent Living, we are constantly lied to, bullied and told by upper management, that Independent Living residence do not really matter. The director and sales manager are nothing but dishonest weasels. The sales managers get commission off of every unit rented, therefore, false promises are made to get you to sign the contract. My advice, get EVERYTHING in writing, bring witnesses during initial tour and sales pitches, and take notes and videos. The little guy who is the head of maintenance tries to intimidate and belittle the ladies here. Harmony promised 24 hour maintenance services and 24 hour front desk coverage, which they DO NOT have and is untrue. I was promised that Gluten free meals would be provided in the meal plan, after arriving to Harmony, the Chef told me he wouldnt do that. Harmony still charges me for the food plan although I can't eat it due to my Siliac disease. The majority of Independent Living residents have repeatedly complained about the food. The other 7 handicap rooms on the Independent Living floor, are not handicap accessible for the most part. They have stackable washer and dryers, the sliding patio doors are too difficult and heavy to open from a wheelchair position. After bringing all of these issues to Harmonys attention, it took up to 6 months to make my room ADA compliant. Yet, again, Harmony made me pay full price for a handicapped room, when in fact, it was not. I can't stress enough, to not trust them with any verbal promises, please get everything in writing, from the smallest detail. I moved across country based on misrepresentation/lies, and I would have never moved here had i known the truth. I'm too sick to move anywhere else. Well, the salesman (there are 2 that I know of) are very good at their job. What they Promised is not what we got! There are added charges everywhere. The salesman "sure, you can come and eat with them anytime... for 15 dollars a person charged to your bill. This place is understaffed. The staff will tell you that. When I brought it up to the director, he said they met the quota. My dad fell a few times while he was there. Two of the times there was an aid in the room. They say there is a nurse there all the time. Not true! Physical therapy is totally separate from Harmony. Yet the salesperson was like oh yes, we have PT right here that will work with you. I had to constantly get after them to make sure he got showered on a regular basis. The food, oh, yes, it was pretty good except we were told oh yes, they pick from a menu. Well, that changed while he was there to this is what you get . We got behind in payment which are outrageous anyway and before someone called and even addressed me about it. I get a certified letter in the mail. One more thing, they literally were going to kick my 91-year-old father out. All the company is only concerned about is money. It's a very sad situation that this is one of the best around this area.
Tiffany Uphold was exceptional to getting my Mom, family & me introduced to Harmony. She was so upbeat, kind and helpful. Tyler the administrator was also wonderful to work with. We were made to feel welcome, from the minute she walked thru the doors. What a beautiful place and how welcoming everyone was. My family & I highly recommend Harmony of Morgantown. Thank you Harmony, for EVERYTHING!
