Brookdale Central Paradise Valley is an amazing place. My mother has been residing there for approximately 15 years. She is basically independant, yet staff are there, aroud the clock, to assist when needed. She loves bingo, the entertainment, the very attentive and friendly staff, her own apartment, the special events, and the environment as a whole. She basically does not need to leave there since a podiatrist and beautician comes to Brookdale. It is the best move we ever made for my mother.
This was by far the worst senior living facility we have ever experienced. They have a complete lack of compassion . Their health and wellness directory should not be working with families or elderly. Her complete lack of compassion and kindness was evident from day one. She is missing a sensitivity chip and I do not recommend sending your loved ones here. We only lasted a month and a half there.
No! No! No! Please do not trust your loved ones there! This was by far the worst assisted living home we have ever experienced (with multiple parents, in-laws, and grandparents we’ve experienced quite a few!) There is a complete lack of compassion. Their health and wellness director, Cincy, should not be working with families or elderly. She lacks compassion, kindness and empathy. Our father only lasted a month and a half there. Stay far away from them!!
I just left this assisted living facility in complete shock at how badly I was treated by the staff as soon as I walked in. I went there to check on a dear friend who is ninety years old. When the receptionist, who already had some kind of problem with me before I even spoke - when she asked me for the name of the person that I was visiting, I could not remember her last name! I gave her her first name only. With no explanation, she immediately called security and would not say a single word to me until they arrived. When the security man arrived, I was met with more rudeness as if they were stopping just short of accusing me of breaking a law! I could not believe how I was being talked to! He told me I needed to leave, which I did, but they gave me no explanation! I was merely visiting a friend! I am 67 years old! They treated me like I was a criminal!!! I apologized for "seemingly" intruding, and I left! Good luck!
Staff were always very kind to our family when we visited our aunt. The residents seemed happy, and they had cute little dogs on leashes. The main front staff member, Shelly, was so kind, warm, and courteous. No matter what the challenges with older people, she always maintained her poise and professionalism. The nursing staff were courteous also. I am not sure if they were overworked, but if they are, management should hire more.
