The staff is nice, but do not have the experience or education to care for dementia patients which results in neglect of the most needy. My mom's packages were often not given to her. No person man's the front desk so personnel have no clue who comes in or goes out. They are equipped to house hard of hearing or deaf patients or the immobile.
My aunt adjusted very well when she moved into Emily Green Shores. The staff was very caring and attentive. The amenities may not be as up-to-date as some facilities but it was home. My interaction with the staff was very positive. The personal touch is second to none. Emily Green Shores was a good fit. Check it out, it has my recommendation.
My father is a resident here. (1) When he goes to the dining area, no matter how early he arrives or where he sits, they serve him last. (2) He loves plants so, I ordered a few for him. Two months ago, he told me he wanted a rubber plant. I searched online, found a burgundy rubber plant and had it delivered to him. Two days ago, I asked him how his plants were doing, and how the rubber plant was doing. He said they were great, but, apparently, a nurse suggested he put the beautiful large $159 burgundy rubber plant on the front porch because it "couldn't fit" in his room. I offered to drive down from out of town to pick it up. I arrive, and no one knows where the rubber plant is. Which one of your employees STOLE the plant from one of your residents? If we live long enough, we all become elderly. If you make it a habit of mistreating and taking advantage of our most vulnerable community members, you can expect the same treatment during your lifetime on this earth. Regardless, someone better refund my $159 ASAP for the Burgundy Rubber Plant I purchased and had delivered to my father at your facility that one of your employees STOLE!
Nice neighborhood, peaceful property exterior/interior, friendly staff (mostly), and nice waterfront property overlooking the river and Portsmouth City Park across the way. The staff values every resident and they take into consideration their wants and ideas of how to improve interaction and the quality of living there. Healthy, wholesome meals are served daily. Nurses are on site 24/7 so that provides an aura of safety. An overall great place.
Great place. Friendly workers patients are happy. Thank you for taking care of the Elderly and Handicap.
