Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind

For over 40 years, Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind (TLC) has developed life changing programs for people challenged by developmental disabilities and blindness. TLC was founded in 1975 by eight visionary families who believed that life in an institution was not acceptable for their adult children with multiple disabilities and blindness. By personally signing the note on TLC’s first home, they opened California’s first residence specifically for blind adults with multiple disabilities who cannot live independently. Over the years, we have added day programs filled with gardening and exercise, music therapy, physical and occupational therapy and other services. It's quite a life! Because of our founders' commitment, TLC now serves over 200 individuals across the lifespan and for a lifetime.
