Vista Prairie at Brentwood

Brentwood was home for my parents for 18 months. It provided a safe and community feel environment for them. They enjoyed the people and activities, we (their children) appreciated knowing there was 24-hour care, that a nutritionist was preparing the meals and that trained medical staff was providing oversight. Having a full apartment lifestyle was a comfortable transition from their larger home. When the time comes for a lifestyle change, we encourage you to consider Brentwood for a balance of independent living and on-site care.

When my family visited Vista Prairie at Brentwood to evaluate assisted living for our Mother, it did not take long to see that it would be a good fit for her. My initial observation was the positive attitude of the entire staff. Everyone seems to really love their job and care about the residents. The environment is clean, warm and comfortable. A great dining area and other common areas such as a library, a chapel and a hair salon complete the picture. After just a month, we are secure and confident with our decision. The kindness and knowledge of the staff and their willingness to be there for her in any situation is a comfort to us. She loves her apartment and has enjoyed meeting new friends. We are grateful that we found Vista Prairie at Brentwood and can rest easy knowing our Mother is in good hands.

Rice Lake is so fortunate to have Vista Prairie at Brentwood available for seniors that can no longer stay in their home. Being a professional in the Assisted Living field I was laser focused on the care and compassion my dad would receive and Brentwood passed with flying colors. From the moment my brothers and I started moving dad’s items into his new home at Brentwood to the day he arrived we were greeted with kind, energetic staff and enjoyed a clean and bright environment in which we settled him in. Staff were professional, kind, knowledgeable, and paid attention to details. Jane, their Marketing Director spent a lot of time with dad and our entire family on his first day settling in and we left feeling confident and at peace that we chose Brentwood for dad.

We moved my parents into Brentwood in December 2023. Both at 92, they were still not quite ready to leave their home, but it was time. Brentwood's facility and atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. That helped Mom and Dad's transition. What really helped is the Brentwood staff. We could not be any more pleased with the staff and their attention to Mom and Dad's needs. From help with medical needs, to making introductions, to helping hang a picture and even getting cable TV working. We have experience with my wife's Father in a similar facility in a different town. There, the staff does not even know the residents names and staff turnover is constant. Brentwood has exceeded our expectations which gives us a lot of peace of mind.

Brentwood could not have been a better place for my dad. He fought hard to avoid this step in his life. The first year was the hardest. As his issues progressed, I think that he finally accepted that this was the right place to be. The nursing staff was amazing: always giving and caring and exhibiting quality nursing skills. The end of his life was of course the hardest, but this is where the staff truly excelled. I am so grateful for all of the staff. They are truly lovely people.
