Assisted Living of Scottsdale

My 98-year-old mom came to Assisted Living of Scottsdale after having hip surgery and going through rehab. ALOS was highly recommended by staff at the rehab facility and I’m so glad they did. The home is conveniently located, clean, spacious and the assistants are always present. Upon meeting the owner, Ileana, I was immediately impressed with her knowledge and experience and knew my mom would be safe and well cared for. The staff provide 24-hour care with cooked meals, personal interactions, and monitoring. They often had my mom laughing. As well, Ileana spent time with her daily and kept me current with mom’s health and needs. Our family celebrated mom’s 99th birthday on the terrace and she also delighted when Ileana arranged for Santa to visit the residents at Christmas. ALOS is a lovely residence with beautifully kept grounds and an environment that offers stimulating activities or the peace and quiet that residents seek. I know mom enjoyed her time there.

This is a beautiful facility. It is very inviting, clean and well designed. Ileana, the owner & managerwas very responsive, kind, helpful and always wanting to offer the best for my friend and others in the facility. A loving, and kind place. I, however, needed to move my friend closer to me and to a place a bit less expensive.

My father has been in the facility for 18 months and the care is outstanding. The nursing staff has made adjustments daily to accommodate the changes in my dad's abilities. My dad and his clothes are always clean, his room and bed linens are clean and he is treated with respect. Donna and Ileana are always available, easy to talk with and quick to address any concerns or issues. My sister and I visit daily and are greeted with smiles each time. The whole facility is neat, clean and smells pleasant. I have no worries about my father's care at Assisted Living of Scottsdale. I took care of my dad in my home for 6 years on my own. I searched for assisted care all around the valley. ALOS offered a clean environment, caring staff, a good staff to patient ratio, and it felt like a home not an institution.

Ileana, Gabriel and the staff provided excellent skilled nursing care for my mother. Her caregivers were caring and responsive. When my mother started having trouble using her phone, they helped her with it when I called her in between my visits.The home is very clean and welcoming and they provide three home-cooked meals daily. When my mother was in the hospital, Ileana went to see her every day. Whenever I had questions, Ileana responded immediately. Everyone there takes a genuine, personal interest in the residents and their families.

So my mother June lived at the Scottsdale & Shea facility for almost seven (7) years. She was mentally sharp until the end, but not so good physically. I can honestly say that Ileana and Gabriel Somesan and ALOS kept her alive- through CoVid, through pneumonia, through heart issues, etc. The staff ( the ladies) are truly loving and caring, they went out of their way to give June attention and care, to stay in touch with me, to assist with transports when work impeded my ability to take June to an appointment, etc. I spoke to and saw my mother pretty regularly, but I would still get photos and updates from Ileana when something was going on-good or bad. Can't recommend the place highly enough- really made it possible to manage my mother's last years. THX for all you did for June.
