Sadly, none of the other reviews to this point shed any light on the reality of working with this agency. Two of the reviews are obviously from the owner's daughter who has multiple Google and Facebook accounts. The other two are probably friends of the owner. We hired Home Helpers to provide caregivers for our elderly mom who has dementia. From the beginning, we were in the dark concerning who our mom's caregivers were and our schedule. The agency did not bother to even introduce their caregivers. They simply started showing up. The scheduler for this agency is a long-time friend of the owner hired for that reason only; not because she had any scheduling experience. She lacks both people and organizational skills. Our mom's schedule was constantly in flux and we never knew quite what was happening. Needless to say, their scheduling is terrible. It became apparent in the first week that the agency was not capable of providing enough good caregivers to meet our mom's needs. One of the caregivers is the owner's daughter. After we caught her sleeping on the job and requested that she not return, things went from bad to worse. We were left with only one good caregiver. The agency seemed to develop an attitude with us after that. After struggling along with Home Helpers for about a month, they suddenly decided to terminate us without warning. State regulations require at least 10 days written notice prior to termination. Unfortunately, we were left over a barrel and lacked the resources to hire an attorney. My brother and I were forced to immediately resume care for our mom 24/7 until we could hire another agency. We are not difficult to get along with or overly demanding. We simply wanted this agency to provide the care they promised us in the beginning. They were unable to deliver due to gross disorganization, lack of proper scheduling, and poor business practices. That's the sad reality of Home Helpers in Red Lion. Not very helpful.
