Visiting Angels was a tremendous resource for my mother and our family. As her needs increased, so did the amount of time we spent with the caregivers. Rachel, in particular, was super attentive and kind, always on time, and just a really great person. I would highly recommend Visiting Angels to any family who needs support in caring for their loved ones.

I am fairly disappointed with the services I received from Visiting Angels, especially since I read such positive reviews before I decided to use their services. I scheduled for caregivers to come on Sept 6, 7, and 8 (2024). My mother has serious health needs and is in need of consistent care. For each of these 3 days, the caregivers were no-shows and canceled their visits. On the 8th, we were informed that the caregiver had to cancel because she was "not feeling well due to her period." This left our family in a very precarious and uncomfortable situation, scrounging to ask other family members to come by and help with feedings and changings. A replacement was finally found for the 8th, but we declined. We had already contacted family, who agreed to take out of their schedule to come and assist us. We need more consistency, given my mother's conditions, and Visiting Angels dropped the ball. It adds another level of stress to an already-stressful situation when caregivers cancel and leave us hanging. They offered no type of compensation for our troubles. We requested that they pay our current invoice ($120) as a creative way to compensate us and make us whole from the 3 canceled visits. The owner said no. We have decided to remain with a second company that we have patronized, One You Love Homecare, for our private homecare needs. They communicate well and are sensitive to our mother's condition. I know things happen and no agency is perfect. However, having cancellations 3 days in a row (and with no form of tangible compensation for the problems we encountered) was disappointing, leaving our family in a serious bind. We wish them the best but felt the need to share our experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S RESPONSE -- Just for clarity, we scheduled for 4 days of service. The first day (Thursday, Sept 5), we missed the caregiver, who waited for us while we were stuck in traffic on the way home. The remainder of the 3 days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), the caregivers canceled or were no-shows. So, there were 3 solid days where no one showed up, not 2 days as suggested by the owner. Also, there were no attempts to resolve the issue until the final day (Sunday) when we were told about the young lady who was on her period. No other attempts were made to resolve the situation on Friday and Saturday. Last, as I am expected to bear the financial burden of not being there on Thursday, Visiting Angels should be expected to bear the financial responsibility somehow of not being there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They have not, in any way, borne any of the financial burden and transferred the "savings" back to us. That was and remains my point. No-shows on both ends should have been able to offset each other. Having a no-show policy should go both ways. If we are not there, we are expected to still pay. If they are not there, they should be expected to still "pay" in some form of compensation and restitution. It's the oldest business concept and provides the foundation for good customer service. Their apologies aside, they should practice making their customers whole.

Several months ago, we engaged Visiting Angels to help care for my father. We have been very pleased with the caregivers and the service they provide. The administrative staff has also been excellent to work with, and they have kept us informed with any staffing changes and requirements in a timely manner. This was the first time we have used an organization like Visiting Angels, and although we were a bit hesitant to get assistance, my father had reached a point where he needed additional help during most of the day. We have been very pleased with the caregivers they have provided, and we have been especially pleased with the caregiver who spends the most time with my father (12 hours a day, 5 days a week). The caregivers have provided detailed information to us regarding how the day has gone, and they have continued to adapt their assistance to meet my father's changing daily meeds. Their care and concern has provided us great peace of mind. The Visiting Angels staff has also asked us for our feedback on the caregivers and has looked for ways to improve their services to my father. We highly recommend The Visiting Angels service. Although we don't have first-hand knowledge, it does seem that the organization treats their employees well. Because of this, there has been very little turnover in employees during the time we have used their service. This certainly speaks well of the organization. Barrett and Stephenie Joyner

We have been using Visiting Angels of Chapel Hill for just over four weeks. Overall, our experience has been lovely! We needed someone to be with Dad for a half day each day to make sure he's eating regularly, taking his medication properly and using his walker (he has diabetes along with being a fall risk). Because Dad was also recovering from an infection, Dr. E. met with us personally to make sure that he understood clearly what kind of help we might be looking for. He is a very busy man so taking the time to go out to Dad's house (on a weekend no less!) seemed very kind and attentive. Beyond what one would expect from a business owner but not beyond what we should hope to get from a business owner. He is warm and thorough and also made himself promptly available to connect with me when I had additional questions one week after starting the service. Additionally, we have had a few different aides assisting Dad and he has felt comfortable with all of them. That is super important to our family so that has been a relief. Finally and not to be outdone, all of the office staff and schedulers have been on-the-ball and terrific! I have encountered staff in other businesses who seemed to not care or were inexperienced in how to manage an office properly, but that has not been the case here. Specifically, Nodia and Princess have been efficient and communicative and I have never felt like we were left roaming around in the dark trying to find our own way. I know many of my generation are trying to manage helping their parents while also raising kids and I am happy to say that this Visiting Angels has relieved much of our craziness!
