Halcyon Home - Hospice

My 89yo mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's six months ago. We made the move from her independent living, to our home. From the start, I knew we would need assistance and I started asking for referrals from friends. Of the three that I interviewed with, Halcyon appeared to be the total package. I wanted to assemble a team of familiar faces that also wanted to help educate us for the roller-coaster ride we were about to receive. We were introduced to a group of people that can best be described as the variety of heroes that don't require capes. We settled into a routine with our overnight caregivers: Dani, Audrey and Bryanna. These ladies showed us what to expect and how to handle the myriad situations that have kept us on our toes. I feel like we are still at the beginning of our journey but are much better prepared with their guidance.

I have been using Halcyon Home for my Mom for many years. This year I was so disappointed with the assisted living facility that my Mom was living at that I brought her home and called Halcyon. Yaneli, her caregiver is so attentive and kind. She is reliable and is able to care for Mom when needed. I don’t have to deal with rotating caregivers on a regular basis, like I have experienced with other agencies. Barbara in the billing department has been so helpful with billing that works for us. Recently I needed forms documenting care all the way back to 2022 and they graciously provided them in a timely manner. Corina the case manager is quick to help with changes and additions to the schedule. Mom and I are so pleased with Halcyon and grateful for all the care and consideration they have shown us throughout the years.

Molly with Halcyon Home assisted me with finding people who would be suitable for my mom while my husband and I were out of town. I appreciated Molly’s professional demeaner and her determination to find the right caregivers for my mom. Two out of the three people were acceptable to my mom but that is to be expected. I will use Halycon Home again.

I've had 2 surgeries this year and used Halcyon Home for both. I had a wonderful nurse named Meredith who was very through, a great scheduler and dept head, Nora who had great info and got all the scheduling correct. Then my medical assistant who spent the most time with me, Delyla, was a true gem. Very friendly, seemed to care, and organized, and reminded me about all my post op steps without being pushy. I have one more surgery for this year and I will use them again!

The Halcyon Home team are truly angels on earth. Our 92-year old mother took a quick turn for the worse and I, along with my siblings, were totally unsure of how we would navigate the challenges of Mom's final days in Assisted Living in Houston. One call with Halcyon's founder, Amy Sweet, and we were immediately put into the trusted hands of the Halcyon Home team in Houston. For the next two weeks, any questions and needs we had were addressed before we could even think of them -- and greatly appreciated as we were unaware of the tremendous resources that could be provided to ensure Mom's final days were peaceful as she was surrounded by loving family and staff. Our Halcyon case manager, Linda Nwabueze, quickly became a trusted member of our family - sharing her incredible knowledge and experience as well as joining us in tears and funny stories about Mom. Without Linda and the rest of the amazing Houston Halcyon team, we could never have provided Mom with the love and care she had in her final days.
