Heartland Hospice Services- Brunswick

I am not sure what my family and I would have done without the care, the guidance, the advocacy, but most importantly, the compassion from the Heartland Hospice team during my father’s final months. Eventhough I am in the senior care profession, it hits different when it is your family member that is in the need of end-of-life care and support. The Heartland team was there for my Dad, and also for our entire family guiding us through the tough journey we were on. They became caregivers, in a sense, for my entire family helping us get through a tough a very difficult time. Susan and Mary were my Dad’s primary nurses, and I can only hope that one day if I need end-of-life care that I am lucky enough to have a duo like them looking out for me, but also my family members. My family and I will be forever grateful for Heartland Hospice and their amazing team!

I would absolutely recommend heartland hospice and their staff. Susan Richard’s was the most kind hearted person I have ever met. She was there for my mom in her final days in every possibly way. She was also there for me and explained everything in a way I could understand and accept. I honestly do not know how I would have made it without her help with my mom passing but she was there every step of the way. She had a huge impact on my mother which means the world to me. If you are ever in a situation that I was in I would definitely recommend going with heartland hospice. I highly recommend Susan Richard’s!

Heartland Hospice has helped me tremendously throughout my dad’s transition. I felt like I wasn’t alone and had help in any direction that I needed. Their nurses went above and beyond to help me get things in order, even after my dad passed. I still get checked up on, they make it personal.. it’s not just a job to them, it’s a lifestyle, it’s caring and being passionate with the families.

My entire family and I will be forever greatful to Heartland Hospice as we navigated a very sad and upsetting journey during our dear Husband , Father and Grandfather's final months. Nurses, Mary and Susan, were here at the drop of a hat, had the necessary equipment delivered even before we knew we needed it, and were only a phone call away for any unexpected medicial situations. Just as importantly, they were with us in the hospital, assuring that no need went unattended. While nothing can take the pain of a loved one passing away, our Heartland Hospice team helped us every step of the way.

In my Dads final months and ultimately days, the Heartland Hospice team (Mary and Susan, absolute angels) not only cared for my Dad's every need but also understood the emotional and physical toll caregiving took on my family, my mother specifically, loved on her and made sure she had everything she needed as well. As long as my Dad could communicate, Mary and Susan would pull a chair right up to my Dad, look him in his eyes and made sure he knew that they were there for him and would make sure he had absolutely everything he needed. Unfortunately my Dad spent the last week of his life in the Brunswick hospital where Mary and Susans visits not only continued but increased. They were 100% present with his care even in the hospital and were incredible advocates for not only my Dad but our family when it came to the care he received there. They gently and with the utmost love and compassion talked us through each stage my Dad was going through during his transition and made sure we knew that he was ok and in no pain. I won't even try to explain in this review exactly what this Heartland Hospice did for my family but it is beyond what can be explained in words. My father passed 3 weeks ago, my first time losing a loved one, and Mary and Susan quickly became a part of our family. We will NEVER be able to repay this team for what they did for us in my Dad's final days but sure do know we will love them forever.
