Caring Hospice Services
Caring Hospice Services
Caring Hospice Services is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Stamford, Connecticut and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

My experience with A Caring Hospice is not all that positive. On the day my mother passed away, I called continuously requesting someone to come out for hours and was finally told 'you just don't want to see your mother die'. She was right, I did not want to see my mother not only die, but to be essentially neglected. I brought her to the hospital knowing she would be kicked out of hospice because once you are on hospice, you can no longer go to the hospital. Fortunately, she received the pain medications she needed, not the amount recommended by Hospice, and died with me by her side in an environment where she was treated with the respect she deserved. Today, August 11, 2024, I received the EOB from Medicare stating they had 30 home visits with my mother, one each day, which is not true. Never did we have one visit every day and at this point in time, my mother was cut back to two visits per week from a CNA and one visit per week for a nurse. Keep track of hours!
Hospice care given in an assisted living facility. The members of the team kept me informed and provided swift and helpful responses to questions I had. I'm sure it is routine but I was grateful for their sympathy card---the only one I received for the loss of my friend who was like family to me.
Caring Hospice of Stamford, CTserved my Grandmother and our family through my grandmother's last week with caring kindness, professional knowledge, and round-the-clock empathy and support. We are very grateful for all that they did for us and strongly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in need - hospice is a wonderful thing through a very difficult time, and Caring Hospice in Stamford is excellent.
I can.t believe after numerous mistakes and lies on their part. They just quit and walked away at night . Leaving my very sick mother alone . There are no words to describe the abandonment I feel.. How can they just walk away leaving me with dangerous medications that I have no idea what to do with ? It was a bunch of silly stupid mistakes, like not sending the items they said they would , then when they did , they were the wrong items, but rather then saying they were sorry , they told me it wasn't their fault. And they told me if I don't like it I could go find someone else. When I said maybe I would , they quit and just drove away?????? Oh God , now what do I do?
No one could ask for more professional or caring support. We were deeply blessed to have Caring Hospice guide us from life to loss.
