Georgia Hospice Care
Georgia Hospice Care
Georgia Hospice Care is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Warner Robins, Georgia and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

My mom was diagnosed with dementia. It has been hard on my sister and I. We have been dealing with insomnia. My mom’s Outburst in the middle of the night and it. Wake up calls at 4 AM. I called the hospice team and I finally got some help. She is sleeping soundly now! The nurse even talked to my mom to encourage her to take meds. I thank God for u!
My Grandfather was on services for almost a year. The care that was provided to him was outstanding. From the nurses, CNA's, Chap. and Social workers, everyone was wonderful. My Grandpa looked forward to his visits with each person. They would sit and tell him stories and listen to his. Grandpa would show them his gardens, many times we would show up and Grandpa would be outside under his trees on the bench talking to the Preacher. The nurse helped him decorate his Christmas tree to surprise us when we came home. The nurse would leave recipes for him to try, even would leave a shopping list for us to have to take grocery shopping with. When we needed things after hours, they were there. On weekends, they were there. Grandpa would fall a lot and each time, after hours or during business hours someone would come and assess him, clean him up and provide wound care. At the end of his time, the nurse came every day to check on him. We had a hospital bed ordered and delivered within 3-4 hours of needing it. They called in all of our medications and U Save It in Centerville would deliver it to us. My only regret is not calling Georgia Hospice Care sooner for my Grandpa. We will always remember those who took care of him and our family.
I have to say this company as some pros and cons. My mom was in the hospital december 2023 and georgia hospice care member came to speak to my mom about their program. I remember my mom not wanting to give up and i remember emily kept calling to see how my mom was, i love that she was concerned. But it somewhat felt like she was pushing to go on hospice. I chose home health first, i recommended getting home health first because they will show you every single step of taking care of your love one with the right care. After a couple months with homeheath we decided georgia hospice care for my mom. They're some pros that i love about the company and cons that i do not like. If you do not know how to take care of your love one when it comes to certain medical procedures i would not recommend getting on hospice first. Try atrium home health they're very detailed when it comes to that. With hospice care the nurses know some medical procedures til a certain point. My mom had a tracheostomy and it would come out sometime. So i remember the nurses were not as skilled when it come to tracheostomy and did not check her trach as much as they should. But they were very detailed on other things. When it comes to ordering supplies please make sure you know the amount you use for your love one in a day and think about how many you will need for that week. when it comes to medical supplies, I have to reused many of my tracheostomy supplies alot because some orders took 2 weeks to come in. It was not very sanitary because you cannot reused tracheostomy supplies because it can cause the patient to have a bacteria infection if not sanitized the right way. But when it comes to diapers and wipes they were shipped very fast or the nurse would carry them with them sometimes. I have to say the nursing staff was very sweet and built a good relationship with my mom. The nurses and aids remembered certain details my mom would tell them. My mom certainly loved the bath aids, they were always very good and speedy if my mom wasn't feeling good that day. The aids always checked their diaper and made sure the sheets were changed. When it comes to overnight nurses call, they only have a nurse on the phone that will assist you when it's at night. They do not send night nurses out like they should if you need assistance at night sometimes. Also if someone reading my review, please note hospice is not a caregiver service. They do 30 minutes/1hour nursing visit and order medicine. So I would recommend if you hired a sitter/caregiver if you are thinking about going into any hospice care programs. Okay so I have to note lastly, when it comes to your love one passing... If they pass during the night, hospice does not come til morning to pronounce them as dead. Because their office is close. So it left me a little traumatized in that situation. My mom passed around 3am and they came to the house around 9am. The one thing I do not like is how unempathetic the head nurse is when it comes to a love one passing. When the nurse called, to get detailed on the passing of my mom the nurse talk to me nonchalant and gave me no empathy when it came to my mom passing. It was very dry conversation. But Georgia hospice care staff was good when it came to developing a good bond with my mom.
I personally don't like this company. They never called me to inform me that they were taking over as my mom's Hospice provider. I was not informed by them or the houston county hospital of my mom's transfer to the nursing home where she passed away at. As I should have been notified as I was her emergency contact and I had her power of attorney. So I would not recommend this place to anyone. Wish I could give 0 stars!!
