10/29/2025 8pm Went in to ER with severe shortness and heart palpitations. No one listened to my lungs or heart. 2 nurses asked about my medications but when they heard that I had "alot", they decided that they did not need to document them. The doctor never asked for my medical history or listened to my heart or lungs. I was told my labs are fine, my chest xray is fine, my EKG is fine, my CT of the head is fine, given meds to lower my blood pressure and discharged. I still had severe shortness of breath, almost fell 2x while leaving due to dizziness. I felt the same as when I went in. This is wrong on so many levels that it crosses a line. In response to your reply about calling your ombusman: I'll have my attorney call your ombudsman.
To long of a wait Staff disrespectful Security are good people Hippa violations Took my husband for a possible broken wrist /hand for our washer falling on him thankfully not his chest was ordered an x-ray and that was still 3-4 hour wait on top of the 3 hours before u get it back also. Absolutely ridiculous might as well start going to UH since they are better patient care! Not happy definitely unacceptable 😤 😒
Good morning, I drive people to medical appointments to over 25 facilities in the NE Ohio area. Ashtabula County Medical Center is rated one of the lowest patient care and patient services facilities,I believe. Looking at doctors available in the area to parking and computer communications with other facilities and even within their own facility. They are going thru a major build and ad on and up grades in many places thru out the facility. Parking for patients is horrible. Now they are offering free valet parking. I was told to boost patient usage of the facility. Bathroom up grades that are not upgrades for patient well-being. You still have to touch everything,no non touch controls. If you go to Lowes, they have that stuff,Ashtabula County Medical Center is not concerned in patient safety or care in my book . Even rest areas in the State of Ohio have no touch facilities?
MY NIECE WAS BROUGHT IN BY AMBULANCE LAST NIGHT. HIGH FEVER AND SHE WAS HAVING SEIZURES. HAS NEVER HAD A SEIZURE BEFORE WITH A FEVER (UNDERSTAND THAT CAN HAPPEN) SHE WAS NOT RESPONDING , NOT OPENING HER EYES, YOU COULD OF MADE ANY NOISE YOU WANTED AND SHE WAS NOT FULLY WAKING UP OR OPENING HER EYES. WHEN HER EYES WERE OPEN , THEY WERE GLOSSY AND ROLLED, FOR OVER 2 HOURS. THEY DID A FEW SWAPS AND A CHEST XRAY. WE EXPLAINED SHE WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN. ACTING LIKE SHE CANT PEE, PREVIOUS TO THE SEIZURE. THE DOCTOR ACTED AS IF WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT AND THAT THIS WAS NORMAL BEHAVIOR WHEN YOU HAVE A SEIZURE (MAYBE SO) NEVER GOT A URINE SAMPLE.. NEVER DREW BLOOD... NEVER GAVE AN IV.. SHES 2 AND BARLEY RESPONDING. WHEN QUESTIONED BEFORE WE LEFT , SHE CAUGHT AN ATTITUDE AND SAID OK I CAN DO A WHOLE BLOOD PANEL AND I AM GOING TO STRAIGHT CATH HER... LIKE WHAT WE WERE ASKING WAS UNREASABLE.. SHE IS 2 AND BARLEY RESPONDING... DIAGNOSED WITH A "VIRAL" INFECTION, SAID TO GIVE HER IBUPHREN. (FAILED TO CALL THE PRESCRIPTION IN EITHER) WE TOOK HER TO THE DOCTOR AS SOON AS THEY OPENED UP. THEY DID BLOOD WORK, MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH BLOOD WORK, SEVERE KIDNEY INFECTION, BOWEL OPSTRUCTION. COVERED IN A RASH. OUR PEDATRICIAN WAS APPAULED HOW SHE WAS HANDLED AT THE HOSPITAL . I HAVE LIVED IN THIS TOWN FOR 43 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN CONFIDENT IN THIS HOSPITAL DUE TO HEARING ALL THE NIGHTMARES THAT HAPPEN THERE. BUT THE AMBULANCE TOOK HER THERE... AND THEY PROVED EXACTLY WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER TRUST THIS HOSPITAL! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO TELL US, IT HAPPENS TO 3-5 BABIES A MONTH WITH THE SEIZURES AND FEVERS... SO YOU JUST ASSUMED THAT WAS WHAT IT IS. I AM NOT DONE HERE!
Drove an hour to visit a family member in the ICU. I called beforehand to see if my 15 year old was allowed to visit, and I was told yes. We entered the room, literally within a minute the nursing staff came in and told us we had to leave, that minors weren't allowed there. I told them that I had called before hand and they acted like I was lieing, one woman literally rolled her eyes at me. It's stressful enough knowing we are about to lose a family member, but for the staff to be so utterly nasty just made it so much worse. There are signs posted everywhere about "tolerance" and treating the staff there with respect, but they obviously dont practice that in return.
