I was taken by ambulance for a cardiac issue a couple months back. I was placed on a gurney that was in the hallway opposite a very busy elevator. The gurney was actually there because it was "SO OLD IT NO LONGER WORKED AND WAS TO BE DISPOSED OF!!" I was told by the nurse assigned to me that I would soon be put into a room.... THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!!! I was stuck on the gurney "MY WHOLE STAY IN THE ER, EVEN THOUGH I WATCHED PATIENT AFTER PATIENT COME AFTER ME WHO WERE PLACED IN ROOMS!!!" I WAS ASKED ALL MY PERSONAL AND MEDICAL INFO IN THAT HALLWAY AND THERE WAS NOOOOOO CONSIDERATION FOR MY PRIVACY OR CONFIDENTIALITY AS PERSON AFTER PERSON WALKED BY AND HEARD MY EVERY WORD!!!!! IT WAS HUMILIATING!!!! When it was determined I required an injection; I was taken to an office of another medical staff and given the shot.... IT WASN'T EVEN AN EXAM ROOM.... BUT AN EMPLOYEE'S OFFICE!!! Then to add insult to injury; the cardiologist assigned to my case NEVER spoke with my personal cardiologist and DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE WAS!!! I had been there for hours AND THE DOCTOR DIDN'T DEEM IT NECESSARY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MY PHYSICIAN.... In fact, even though he walked by me MULTIPLE TIMES as I lay on that crappy brokendown gurney after I arrived; HE NEVER ONCE STOPPED TO SAY I AM YOUR CARDIOLOGIST AND THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO 1ST.... in fact, I watched him go by me many times and I was invisible, EVEN THOUGH HE HAD TIME TO CHAT WITH THE NURSES HANGING AROUND AND DOING NOTHING AT THE TIME. Complaining about my situation fell on UNCARING EARS. I had NO CALL LIGHT OR WAY TO ADJUST THE GURNEY, AND AS SOMEONE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES, I NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO ADJUST THE GURNEY TO KEEP MYSELF COMFORTABLE! I actually had to beg anyone walking by to adjust it for me and if I needed help; BECAUSE I HAD NO CALL LIGHT AS WELL!!! If I had not had my personal wheelchair by this gurney so I could get to the bathroom; I BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE JUST CONTINUED TO BE IGNORED. THIS WAS A CALLOUS, NEGLECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE AND I FINALLY LEFT NOT BEING TREATED. I have not even shared "THE OTHER THINGS THAT WENT ON IN THIS HOUSE OF HUMILIATION!!!!" If I felt making a formal complaint would help.... I WOULD HAVE DONE SO; but NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN OR CHANGE.... this is obvious by reading "ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THIS ER/HOSPITAL----2.9 STARS OUT OF 5 says it all! I WILL RISK HAVING A HEART ATTACK BEFORE I WILL RETURN TO THIS ER FOR CARE. For whatever reasons, I felt I was treated differently than others in the ER. Maybe it was because I was there alone, I am low income, a person of color, a senior, a differently abled person.... WHO KNOWS..... But I left there feeling humiliated, dismissed, neglected, ignored, angry, frustrated and heartbroken how I was treated. HOW DO YOU ARTICULATE THE WAY ONE FEELS AFTER SUCH AN EXPERIENCE AND AT A FACILITY WHERE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE CARED ABOUT AND FOR?....... I left that place; and as I sat in front of the ER and waited for a ride; I quietly wept; and I am STILL weeping.... And the pain of this experience will NEVER leave me.

My wife cut her hand and required four stitches. From reception to pre-op to the actual procedure, everyone was nothing but understanding, kind, and extremely professional. We are visiting from out of town and were expecting a few hours of waiting (we’re used to triage in a major metropolitan area taking some time), but we were in and out in 1.5 hours. In my book this is “as good as it gets” as far as trips to the ER go. Was surprised to see so many negative reviews after coming here to post this.

Really disheartening to go into the ER looking for my spouse and be told "we don't have anyone by that name" As I'm walking out the ER, an ER nurse calls me to relay a message from my wife. I understand patient's name may not always be available, but this facility would benefit from establishing a system where ER patient's names (when available) are relayed to front desk so spouses aren't left confused having to call other hospitals/police departments to figure out the whereabouts of loved ones. 8/28/2025 @ 11:55 PM

I had one of the worst experiences at this hospital, particularly under the care of Dr. Smith. I was in severe pain due to ongoing gastrointestinal issues, and not only was I treated poorly, but I also felt completely dismissed. Dr. Smith showed a lack of knowledge and professionalism that was alarming. He didn’t review or explain any of my lab results, including the fact that I had a kidney stone. I only found out later through looking at my lab work online & my PCP also questioned his competence which is low. The way patients are treated here seems to depend on assumptions about their financial status, which is both offensive and unethical. It’s funny because he has no clue who I am. Anywho, I felt neglected disrespected, as though my pain didn’t matter. Dr. Smith’s behavior in particular was unacceptable he spoke loudly about patients in the hallway, showing a disturbing lack of privacy or compassion. I even witnessed him completely mismanage another patient’s care, she could have had a stroke but he assumed I’m sure she was “too young,” and prescribing everything except the correct medication for a migraine. He believed she only had a headache, and he BP was high but he said that was not concerning, again incompetent. If you care about your health, I strongly advise avoiding this hospital. The lack of prioritization, medical knowledge, and basic decency could seriously put patients at risk. This is not the place to go if you're looking for proper care or accountability. RUN!!! to save your life. I had to go to another hospital too!

I recently visited their ER in the middle of the night due to a possible foot fracture and the PQVMC team was wonderful. Within 10 minutes of entering, vitals were done, I had a private bed in the ER and met with the medical team (including my attending doctor), who addressed urgent concerns related to pain and upcoming travel. X-rays were completed and I was on my way within 2 hours. The only other comment I have is that the facility is outdated, however don’t let that deter you from receiving care here.
