My husband who has Parkinson’s was in Wexner Skilled Nursing after his stay at Mount Carmel. He made a great recovery after 2 weeks in their care. The therapy he received physical, occupational, and speech was top notch. We were both very grateful for the care he received!
If you read the reviews you might not ever send a loved one to Wexner Heritage. My father was there for 24 days and the care and love that was shown was amazing. Building staff are professional and laid back. You read alot about the food and it is just fine no its not 5 star dining but taste is just fine and portions are generous. Overall very happy about my choice to place Dad here for his rehab and dialysis. Thank you all very much
My aunt was admitted to this facility, it wasn't even 24 hours and I discharged her. She fell the same night she was admitted, I received a call 6 hours after notifing me. This is unacceptable! The nurse that called could not tell me exactly when she fell or how long she was on the floor. The issues that I informed the nursing staff the day she was admitted was not addressed. I was made to feel those issues would be addressed and my aunt would be in good hands. The nurse manager did not know any of this until I showed up to discharge my aunt. That is unacceptable! I do not trust this facility. I do not feel they are equipped to handle certain situations. My aunt was admitted directly from the hospital. She still had her RED RISK FALL bracelet on. Why was this not taken seriously!! I do not recommend this facility to anyone. If you are looking for a facility for your family member, do not go here!!
Would give zero stars if able to. Several issues that could never seem to get resolved no matter how many times we had discussions. Very subpar care to my bedridden mother. Several trips to the hospital because of subpar care. During one of her hospital stays she came back to a personal lamp missing. No one seemed to know where it went or what happened to it. She has a lot of difficulty seeing so it was an issue to lose or break her own personal lamp she brought. She was told by therapy for over 8 months that they were getting her a custom wheelchair she desperately needed. She was given the constant runaround whenever she asked about it. She never did get her wheelchair. They confiscated her amazon order and refused to give it to her. Most of the aids with very few exceptions were rude and disrespectful to her. She is a little higher maintenance due to her mobility issues, having a colostomy bag and being on dialysis. This is why she is in a skilled nursing facility. They did not give her timely care and often ended having unnecessary messes to clean up due to delayed emptying of her colostomy bag. She was made to feel as if it was her fault when these things happened. Her mental health declined drastically while there. She was taken to dialysis and just left there on numerous occasions hours after she was finished. The dialysis center connected with Wexner is amazing. This is the only good thing about her being there. Very kind, caring professionals. All they care about is the money. I got several phone calls when she first moved in about getting them paid. She was on private pay so it was a large sum all at once to pay monthly. It took some time to get things set up with the bank to allow that large sum to be paid all at once. They can certainly address the financial portion of things. If they addressed the care of the residents half as much as the money it would be great. We moved her out and she has not been back to the hospital for almost a year because she is getting so much better care. She is thriving in her new facility. This just proves what a toxic environment she was in at Wexner Heritage Village. Please think twice before you allow your loved one to be here.
My dad was admitted to this facility after having a stroke, vascular dementia. He was on the rehab floor but even though his dementia was advanced and would hinder his rehab participation. In my opinion they wanted to keep him in rehab to collect the insurance $$. There was a lot of back and forth with Melinda to submit the required documentation for Medicaid but she was unresponsive and we ended up getting minimal help from social workers. On two occasions my mom visited and my dad was laying on the floor. After about a few weeks he developed bed sores, and later developed sepsis and died. Wexner Villages abhorrent care was directly related to my father’s death and this place should be shut down. Please do not send your loved one here.
