So my brother is in this place First caseworker does not call back anyone. Trying to get brother mental help he needs it but do they care no. Well she don't Second the only one that answers the phone is charge nurse. Why ? My dad was there for 15 years it only getting worse . Poor people in there the person that runs the manor still has not called me going on 3 weeks very sad ... These are people and family members so sad I think everyone down there has my number. NO ONE MESSES MY FAMILY COME ON DO YOUR JOB
I [32M] have been staying at Corry Mannor as an inpatient and will remain here for the next 60 days. In my stay here I have been treated with nothing but the utmost respect and love. All of the staff here a very attentive and kind to each and everyone of their residence. They provide three meals a dayand allow you double portions and snacks anytime you request. Decent television selection and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned for you daily. They offer physical therapy occupational therapy and they have an in-house psychologist. They do your laundry for you, and if you require anything they have a call button right next to your bed. They offer activities and are accommodating to their upmost ability. The only downside so far is because of covid-19 they only allow visitors to visit you through your window. I find myself very blessed to be in such a place to receive the treatment I need to heal.
Even though this facility is not “officially “ associated with Lecom Health, it was the only facility that the Corry hospital social workers recommended above and beyond any others. My grandmother died due to a pressure wound that was acquired during her stay in this filthy facility. No one would talk to my family even after multiple messages left for the Administrator, Director of Nursing, case managers, nurses, etc. NO ONE would listen to our concerns. The treatment was deplorable by all staff. The facility smells strongly of urine the minute the you enter the lobby. Residents were sitting in the hall neglected and moaning the entire time we visited. The nurses have such a nasty attitude. I called one evening for an update and was told to call back because her nurse was busy. I called back at 10 PM and the charge nurse took the phone to her nurse who said “I don’t care what she wants, I’m not talking to her”. I could hear her say it! Then she told the charge nurse that she hadn’t been in to see my grandmother yet. It was 7 HOURS into this nurses shift and no care had been provided. This is just 1 instance of many, many issues we had with this facility. This facility should be shut down. Please please do not allow your loved one to be shuttled off to this facility. There are so many more choices in the area. Do your research.
As soon as you walk in this facility, you are smacked in the face with a strong smell of urine… not only that the cleanliness of the rooms is not even rankable. For me to come visit my loved one and have to go roaming through the halls to find clean bedding so I could change my loved ones bed… is out of this world. Nurses sitting on the floor texting an on the phone. I literally asked one where a sheet was a she pointed to where I needed to go… nurses or care takers clearly not doing they job an do not care. My loved one was not properly seen by the physician; trying to get updates from nurses is even harder..and the list goes on. How does my family member end up in the hospital due to dehydration? Just plane horrible and no care truly given. This place does not care about the people only the money they get paid and it shows.! I feel sadden for any one who has to come an be taken care , and really hope this place gets shut down. The worst treatment and place I have ever witnessed.
Very unprofessional - Case worker Augusta does not do what she needs to make sure the patient leaves with what the need. Unsanitary- Numerous times came to visit and room was dirty along with the bathroom. Patient even had dried blood on pillow and feces on her sheets. Roommate was discharged on a Friday and feces and urine was left in her portable toilet for 2 days which leads me to believe staff is not doing there job. The smell in the room was awful! When we put in complaints nothing ever came from it. Asked to speak to Dr numerous times and they never called to speak to the family and was never there when we came to visit. Case worker Gus never replies to messages. Staff never had answers. Patient did not receive the care needed. I feel like they just collected insurance money and did not even the bare minimum. Patient roommate also said they missed meals all the time and if your sleeping they wont wake you. Patient had to wear a diaper and it was always soaking wet when we came to visit. IF YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILTY PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN BE THERE ALL THE TIME TO MONITOR EVERYTHING AND MAKE SURE THE NEEDS ARE MET. IF YOU CAN NOT STAY WITH YOUR LOVED ONE AT LEAST 8-12 HOURS OUT OF THE DAY DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO STAY HERE! FIND A DIFFRENT PLACE PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR LOVED ONE. My family member was not with it mentally and they took advantage of that situation. You can tell when family members came to visit they tried to act like they cared about the residents, but once you walk out that door.......your loved one will be on their own. If your loved one can advocate for themselves, they may be able to demand what they need, even though they shouldn't have too, but my family member was not that lucky and needed care which is what we thought this facility would offer. We were wrong :(
