My mom has been a resident at Pruitt for six months. She has received very good care. Having dementia she can be challenging but the nurses and staff have treated her with dignity and kept me informed at all times. I appreciate the care mom receives at Pruitt Healthcare in Covington GA.

We used Pruitt for our dad’s care twice based on the number of stars it had on its reviews. His first stay was good. Lots of support and help from the social worker and staff. But his second visit wasn’t so. Just make sure you keep track of your love ones belongings . They could get lost. And information from the hospital.

My mom stayed there for 13 days. Now 1st of all it’s not home. And we washed her laundry but she was well looked after. I would recommend them. She was In there for rehab. The nurses and staff are understaffed as well as the hospital.. but they did a great job. Hats off to the staff and nurses there. ❤️

My husband has been here for three days. They still have not got his meds correct. Every shift gives you a different excuse and "promise" to correct it. Three days and they just got his diet correct (as a diabetic). He is also blind so has to depend on staff to ensure he is getting what he needs and it's not happening. He was promised a shower today and never got it, then night staff told him they don't do showers on their shift. He has the right to leave but was threatened with "insurance might not pay " for his stay if he leaves without discharge. So we waited all day for an answer and never got it. I'm contacting insurance first thing on Monday morning and filing numerous complaints!!

Run! I have no idea how they have the scores they do. Place is outdated, old equipment, smells like urine and the room is either boiling or freezing. I was sweet talked by the director only to find it was all lip service. One nurse Annie, is good the rest of them don’t care and I honestly think one wishes people death. My dad was in for rehab and doing good. He develop 3 separate infections in their care after recovering from sepsis, he had a bed wound PT didn’t give a damn about and would have him sit until he was in the verge of passing out from pain. He sat one Saturday for 4 hours after soiling himself and calling for help, with a wound mind you. Another day he was in pain (we found he had infection in his spine) he called, nurse came, an hour later when I had to leave I mentioned he had not received his meds for pain, I was met with attitude and later found out the same nurse went in and chewed my dad out saying she only knew about it for 20 minutes! Communication between staff is awful and even more so to the family. Their “care plan” was how many days he could stay paid for by Medicare and they’d have to see how long they’d allow him to stay before sending him home. He was transported twice to 2 appointments, with a sore it should be bed transport, it was not! He was taken to the wrong location and kissed his appointment and a critical step in his recovery and was almost dumped out of his chair being transported. His second infection I raised my voice tot the nurse and said “he’s not well, at what point do you call the doctor or send him to the hospital?” I was met with attitude and her saying they did call the doctor but he has to get back to them. My dad wasn’t eating well, it was also implied that that was my problem and I should be bringing food, which I did everyday, when I raised my voice to the same nurse and said I’m here for a few hours a day, you have him 24/7 and he’s n YOUR care, you have the option to offer food far more than I do! She chucked the medicine cup she was holding in the trash and walked out. When I asked questions I was met with half baked answers or “we’re waiting for the doctor” or silence and someone leaving the room. I was told my dad would be treated like family and that every patient is considered a member of the family and treated as such. I’d hate to be a member of their family!! My dad went sepsis AGAIN in their care, developed ulcers from not eating and severe esophagitis from throwing up due to infection, the day I came to visit him and he was throwing up brown, I said how can you send him home tomorrow and not to the ER!!?? He’s sick, call the ambulance and he has now been hospitalized and in ICU for 13 days. I believe had he stayed or had I not visited every day, he’d be dead, he continually declined in their care, what kind of nurse doesn’t notice this and raise attention to it? I’m hoping he pulls through because he’s fighting a fight I don’t think he should be. This is just the major things. If you care anything about your loved one, find somewhere else!!
