It is a popular place with a long waiting list. Several friends have commented that the people are well cared for.
There are a lot worse places your loved one could end up as far as care facilities go. However, one big thing they could do better is their visitation during this COVID-19 winter. I live 3 hrs 30 minutes away and work over 50 hours a week Monday-Friday most weeks and they said I need to take an in person class that they only offer Monday-Friday before I can see my mother. On top of this I'm moving out of state soon and this is one of the last opportunities I'll have to see her before I move, if not the last. I get that we need to be safe but at some point it would be nice if they created avenues to accommodate long distance visitors like me. They've been great when it comes to visitation during spring, summer, and fall. I'm sure the care they provide their residents is fantastic but their care in regards to letting me see my mother for my last Christmas before I move out of state couldn't be worse. Edit: I stand corrected. It took a little doing but they were able to arrange avenues for me to meet the visitation requirements, even though time has passed and we're now on such short notice. I appreciated it very much and I'm sure they'll extend the same courtesies to other people in similar situations to mine.
I can't speak to previous comments and certainly can't verify those claims. I can only comment on the care I've personally witnessed. My dad has been at Oak Crossing just shy of 2 weeks. In that time he went from someone who had stopped eating and was drifting into severe depression to someone who now eats every meal and has been chatting happily with his nurses. I saw first hand how much the staff has all cared for my dad - making regular visits to check on him, encouraging him to eat, and simply chatting with him. They have been wondrously attentive and when we alerted them to when he needed the toilet, someone arrived within minutes to offer assistance. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing transitional care for their loved one.
Only good things about this place was my midwife and the nurses on the labor floor, the food gets 5 stars as hospital food goes tho. But care wise this place is garbage, hey ER staff that said my problem was salmonella poisoning... I still have symptoms and it's not salmonella like I said it wasn't. Honestly no one in the area gives good care unless you're lucky enough to get a good primary Dr. I'd suggest Sanford in Perham for primary Drs.
If I were you I would not leave your family members here. They are always short staffed with cnas. People end up going to the bathroom in their pants and cnas are just plain lazy. They only do what the have to do and even then they do a 1/2 job at it.
