My mom was admitted here as an emergency coming from a horrible nursing home. They love her, and take excellent care of her. There are daily activities, a hair salon, and loving staff. She sees the facility doctor and they take her to her specialist appointments. They got my mom from a wheelchair to walking with a rolly walker with in house therapists, and she is now very independent. She loves it and plans to stay forever. I recently had a friend go there for rehab/ therapy and they also got her mobile within a few weeks. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Granby House is and would recommend it to anyone, for rehab, or long term.
My experience with this facility lasted about a week. My family member was placed here for therapy but unfortunately she passed about a week after admission. I donated her possessions and asked only for the return of a denim jacket and monies I paid upfront for her therapy,to this date I have received neither. I made many attempts to connect the administrative people and have gotten NO response. I am deeply saddened that I had to seek to help of a facility but sometimes it's necessary. My heart and prayers go to all the people there and wish no I'll on them, but I say this, I WOULD NOT recommend Granby house to anyone,I may however bless them with a civil suit.
My mother had tried many different nursing homes from Sarcoxie to many in Joplin and this is the ONLY ONE that cared for the patients as if they cared. They refused to take patients if they didn't have enough staff to take care of them. That alone says everything about this place. I appreciated everything they did for my mother, the attention she was given, and the kindness of everyone there. EVERY NURSING HOME should take their ques from this home. It's not all about how much money they could make out of the patient, it was and I'm sure still is, about how much time and care they can give to the patients. Thank you.
Most of the employees are more worried about their work "click" than the patient's meaning many good nurses have been run off by the select few divas, most polite term I could find in my vocabulary, that work there....also I've Heard from more than one employee of several deaths that could of been avoided by adequate care. Would not suggest putting a loved one here.
These people who run and work at granby house are amazing. They are so sweet and kind. They helped me unload a car full of my grandmother's stuff and set it up in her room. They were all there to welcome her with open arms. It was a good feeling to know they are so attentive, especially when you have a loved one that you are trusting them to care for. Very impressed with the granby house
