We love MiCasa! This is my husband’s second time here for rehab after the hospital. The staff are great and he has had therapy every day. He has a private room with a couch, the size of a double room in most nursing homes. We also have a great group of people who meet together on Sunday mornings for a church service. We highly recommend it and would come back again if the need arrises.
I was there on an unexpected visit with a cousin who is am amputee. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I arrived at dinner time and brought sandwiches. I asked a worker for a plate and the worker provided a plate.my cousin and I had dinner together in the dinning room. I witnessed a staff member gently feeding a patient who was unable to feed herself. Several patients were in the dinning room sitting at round tables, which allowed for friendly conversation. I saw and heard a man caugh and all the patients, who were sitting at the table showed concern and seemed willing to help out. The facility is well maintained both outside and inside. All the personnel seemed busy doing their job. I did not witness personnel who were not busy carrying out a task.
The staff was the best!!! I especially appreciated Nurse May& Alisa, Caregivers Carmen, Maria & Yvonne, Therapy Beth & "Nelly Belly". Theres so many great people I cant remember thier names. Food could use some improvement. My room was always clean Marta the housekeeper kept my room very clean. I would recommend Mi Casa to my friends and family.
I honestly thought this place was going to be bad. But I was wrong. Everyone at Mi Casa has been amazing. They answer your calls fairly quick, everyone is really nice, and they want to help in any way they can. There was only two times where I had to wait a little longer for them to answer the call light, but that was due to someone having an emergency. If you have to go to a skilled nursing facility this is one of the better ones.
Today was the first time visiting Mi Casa. It was very clean and without odors except for a little urine odor in the farthest hall. Our friend was up in his chair, dressed and clean. His feet could have been positioned better. The staff are monitoring him carefully post hospitalization. Privacy was evident as there was no patient information displayed inappropriately. Staff were friendly toward visitors but slow to acknowledge our presence. At one point there were 5 staff at the nursing station and not one acknowledged us or asked "Can I help you?" No one was rude--just "too busy to assist". As someone who spent many years in the nursing home industry, as a Director of Nursing, Administrator, Surveyor and finally as an Independent Consultant, I can say the staff at Mi Casa are doing a great job!(B+)
