I'm very impressed with everything Lakehouse has to offer my loved one. I arrived just a few minutes before my loved one arrived from the hospital and I was welcomed with open arms. This made all the difference and knew I made the right decision for my loved one. From the minute my loved one arrived, staff was with him helping him adjust and the best part, they had a private room and immediately moved my loved one to that room. The staff helped my loved one adjust to his new room while I took a tour with staff. I'm very impressed with the physical therapy area and the chapel, which is also used for activities. So far my experience along with my loved one has been nothing but amazing, respectful and compassionate. In addition, within 24 hours of my loved one arriving, the social worker, physical therapist and HCMC nurse practitioner contacted me, this is exactly the care I was hoping for. The Lakehouse will be my loved ones forever home, thank you, Lakehouse for offering such a wonderful environment.

Lakehouse was neither equipped nor staffed to provide acceptable transitional care after a joint replacement. We arrived from the hospital and sat in the patient's room for 90 minutes without contact until I (patient's family member with full mobility unlike patient) went to the nurse manager for any acknowledgement that we were even there. The room equipment was broken and from the 1970's. The bed didn't function when we arrived. Call button was also malfunctioning in the same room. On most occasions, everyone (all three people) at the nurse's station were wearing earbuds and looking at/talking on their mobile phones. The patient called the nurse's station overnight for help getting to the bathroom and was told to wait until morning. I read the other reviews here and they seem like they are from a different place. I can compare this facility to two others in the Twin Cities. I understand and sympathize that it is difficult to staff a facility like this amidst a national nursing shortage. For our family, the care available for our circumstances fell way below an acceptable and safe threshold. We quickly transferred to another (also new to us) facility in the Twin Cities on the premise that anything would be better - thankfully it was much, much better.

I give it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. Overall, the staff on the second floor of the Rehabilitation center is great! They keep me updated on my husband's progress and any issues he may have. They're very quick at getting him medical attention when needed.

I have had a handful of patients come from this facility; they are often disheveled, not properly prepared for transportation, and have complaints of feeling defeated/ not cared for. The collaboration of healthcare for patients is horrendous and requires multiple attempts to achieve the requested outcomes from their staff. Be very cautious and diligent when sending a loved one.
