Reviews
One Word to describe Glades.. NEGLIGENCE. I’ve been holding off on writing this review, but I owe it to families to let them know how things are run here. The PTs are great. The rooms are clean. That is about it on the pros. My aunt is a fall risk on oxygen. She would like to but can’t go to the restroom on her own because the oxygen doesn’t reach, so she has to wear a diaper. She sits for hours in a soiled diaper. I understand that there are other patients, but this facility needs to hire more help to cover all of the patients in a more timely manner. They have one person on the third floor who showers the patients, changes the diapers, and feeds the patients.. ONE person. This person is obviously spread thin and gets agitated if you ask or make any comments (in a non-aggressive way). They have a whole calendar of daily activities.. my aunt sits in her chair waiting all day long to go to the activities but no one comes to take her. She either misses the activity or shows up too late to enjoy it. These are senior citizens who can’t wheel themselves to the events. No one is checking in during the day to see if they want to go. The patients are lucky if they are remembered. I came to take my aunt to the nail painting activity. They weren’t taking her because supposedly they had run out of oxygen tanks.. at a place.. with oxygen dependent patients.. RED FLAG. I straight up told the nurse that’s ridiculous and miraculously oxygen tanks were found. Now I’m actively sitting in the second floor where the activity is supposed to take place and no one is here painting nails. So now I’ll wheel her back to her room, ask for them to change her soaked through diaper, and have them put her in bed. She is tired of sitting in the wheel chair since breakfast this morning. If the patient is at risk of aspiration, they are fed the same bland for morning and night, everyday. Again, the PTs are great and do their jobs.. but all of the nursing staff could use work or maybe just more help. This place isn’t worth $700-800 dollars a day. LOOK ELSEWHERE, try to get into st Catherine’s in Hialeah. My uncle was there and liked it. It’s impossible to have piece of mind here because they are not caring for the patients like their website says. Don’t let the positive reviews fool you. It isn’t like that here. *update* I’ve asked for the group of nurse just chatting it up to change her diaper.. that hasn’t been changed since the morning, it’s almost 4pm.. it’s been 30min and we are still waiting for someone to come.
This is the "Hilton"of rehabilitation and nursing home facilities. The PT, nursing and adminstration staff are compassionate and professional. A special thanks to Juliett, Natalia, Quincy, Mckenzie, Pearl, Miguel and PT staff. Adonis the transport driver is an outstanding. All the areas were super clean and the garden area a nice bonus. The food was good and hot. We are so grateful to their Social Worker Denise truely a caring professional. Thank you again Brian and Chere Reynolds
My experience with Glades West Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel welcome and supported. The nurses, therapists, and administrative team are incredibly professional, caring, and attentive to every need. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and creates a warm, home-like environment. My loved one received top-notch medical care and made amazing progress in their recovery thanks to the dedicated therapy team. What stood out most was the genuine compassion shown every single day—they truly treat patients like family. I would highly recommend Glades West to anyone in need of rehabilitation or long-term care. They go above and beyond in every way!
The facility and it's staff are Patient Centered and very caring. My elderly brother went there following a fall and returned home with improved health and a wonderful attitude following the compassionate care he received at Glades West. I would recommend this rehabilitation center wholeheartedly
Horrible experience. They are not staffed properly at night and if a patient falls he/she can lay there for hours. Sadly, we know this first hand. They are also not equipped to administer feeding through PEG tube properly. Father lost 10 lbs for the few days he was there. They showed no concern that the feeding schedule was not done consistently. This also meant that he did not get vital meds correctly since those are administered via the PEG stomach tube. Further, the place is sad, drab and very depressing. Dark and unwelcoming. Never again.
