Don’t leave valuables here! Get a lockbox and tag items. My Mom has been a resident for over 2 years. She was hospitalized recently for a couple of weeks, came back and most of her stuff (purse, nice perfume bottles, makeup, Wallet w. Cash) all gone. I asked and the nurse said she remembered her stuff, but didn’t know where it went. They moved her into another room as well, and her itemized sheet of belongings just “disappeared” as well. I should have known better to bring her a new TV, but the one in her room broke and she said no one was fixing it. I made sure to document this one. Photos, wrote down on the new sheet and checked it in with the staff there. One week later and it’s missing. Apparently, “maintenance” took it and never brought it back. This is Beyond shady and concerning. Going to get her a lockbox in the meantime. As we don’t have the means to move her elsewhere. This is her second time in a nursing home and both places have stolen her belongings. Stealing from those that hardly have Anything as it is, is just evil. Two stars for the kind and helpful staff that are trying their best. I know it’s a tough job and underpaid.
We have been through many many nursing homes for my mother, and boulder creek has been the best. We appreciate how they care for our mother’s condition changes at all, small or big, quickly. We are even called when my mother gets a skin abrasion, and I think that speaks to the quality of her care. The facility is always clean, and the staff from social services to nursing, feel like family.
I've been here for 3 days now, and I'm impressed with how friendly the staff is. They seem to care about my recovery. The facility has a nice courtyard to sit and enjoy. EDIT: When I left this place they never reported to the Social Security Office that I was discharged and I had to jump through hoops getting my disability payment back to what is was suppose to be.
I’m giving one star only because I have to choose at least one star to leave a review. My 68 mother went into this facility to recover from surgery, days later left in an ambulance and died. She was showing, what I now understand, was signs of sepsis but was not caught by anyone there. I came everyday to be with her because I knew something wasn’t right. She was not getting better, she was actually getting worse but no one there cared to find out why. It was a Sunday morning and when I walked into my see my beautiful 68 year old mother, I found her minutes away from death. The palms of her hands and bottoms of her feet were blue, almost black. She was completely out of it and couldn’t talk or hear me. I told the staff to call an ambulance immediately. Minutes later they told me they called for a transport that would be there in AN HOUR! I called 911. When the paramedics arrived they were not only livid with the staff because they didn’t seem to be worried about the state of her condition, but the paramedics told me they couldn’t take her on a 15 minute ride to Sharp Hospital (where her doctors were) because she wouldn’t make it. I later found out they didn’t think she would make it two blocks to Palomar Pomerado either. While she made it to the ER, she passed away after days of multiple surgeries to try to save her life. I lost my mother and I hold this facility partially responsible in a really big way. Sepsis is something that often happens after surgery but they failed day in and day out to listen to her (and us) regarding her pain, explaining why she was unable to eat, identify her confusion as a possibility of her having an infection. There were so many signs and they missed them all…even as her extremities were dying right in front of their faces. NEVER put your loved ones here!
I'm there (here) @ BC right now - Staff is incredible. Plenty to do to stay active and recover. Physical rehabilitation of course, both PT & OT.. Medicines, Doctor's & Nurses.. Daily activities, Gym, Large Outdoor Patio, Books, Games (Bingo, Music, BBQ, etc). 24 hour care.
