I would highly recommend this facility. I was very apprehensive about going to a rehab facility due to several unpleasant past experiences. However I was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent care that I received at this place. It is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The shower is very roomy and safe. The food is way better than past experiences. You would be hard pressed to find another facility that could measure up to this one. The physical therapy treatment and pain medication was also top notch. If you need rehab care do not hesitate to come here.
If I could leave a one star, I definitely would. I don't normally leave reviews, because, well I can brush most things off. My mother was admitted into care after a lengthy hospital stay. She was admitted for rehabilitation. Whilst the rehabilitation nurses were kind and considerate of her, the nursing staff was not. My mother couldn't move on her own, as she has a broken femur and ankle. I understand that the facility has a lot of patients, and some have issues that are bigger than others. My mother was left to sit on her potty chair for an hour, not just once, but several times. She came home with a bedsore that was seeping. They did not turn her in bed, they would make her wait sometimes 6 hours without pain meds. (It was supposed to be given to her every 4) She also stated that the nurses were rude to her on countless occasions, refused to help her into the recliner in the room as well. This place was a space I thought would be beneficial to her recovery, but instead it was a nightmare of a week. Finally I checked her out and just set up rehabilitation from home. Countless times nurses told her that she didn't need to be there. She was treated like an animal and not a human being. She got her medicine at different times everyday, never got water. This is absolutely uncalled for! Her phone ran out of service, and the only way she felt comfortable contacting me was through her own line. They wouldn't give her the wifi password and told her to get up and go to the nurses station if she wanted to make a phonecall! She can't walk! Please look into reviews before bringing a loved one here!!
Some staff was very polite but others were just plain rude. The facility is not very homelike. The patients were all sitting in the hallways without any interaction with people except passerby’s coming and going in and out of the facility. My father was a fall risk and as you see in the pictures they were no bed rails or alarms on the bed. The wheelchair had no wheels for him to move himself around except for just scooting himself around with his feet. Also again, no alarm or foot rails to rest his feet on his wheelchair. He was allowed to walk around without help(example no walker). He was trying to go outside to get fresh air and was not allowed. My father smokes cigarettes and drank coffee on a daily basis and a fellow patient tried to give him these things and also take him outside and the resident got yelled at for giving him these things. All around it’s not a good place to have your loved one placed so they can get rehabilitated.
The best thing I ever did was transfer my mom from here. Nurses were great and that’s why I gave 2 stars but the rest was pretty Awful. From aides telling my mother (whom has a diagnosis of dementia) that she didn’t need to be there, to them basically pushing her out the door without a proper and safe discharge. The threats of charging her private pay costs and then the final straw of submitting the Medicaid level of care paperwork and not including more than half of the required paperwork to get her approved to stay. The professionalism is definitely LACKING. I’m grateful to say that I quickly made the choice to transfer her elsewhere, where she has since made great strides and has met the level of care standards!
this place has been absoulity amazing on helping my mom get back on her feet. the aids an nurses on the side where rooms 300's an 400's are great caring an understanding. I would recommend this place to any family member an or loved ones. my only issue is an was the lady at the front desk. she seams to be rude an pick at just certain patients, like my mother for instant . my mom is a smoker so I would go down an take her out to smoke several times a day. an every time this lady is the only one who had something to say. she would come out an tell us we needed to smoke down on the side walk, when it was raining. witch I understand that's fine i agree. but then other patients would come out an sit right by the front doors an not a word to them. this happend several times. I'm not sure what her deal was an is. but she was our only bad experience with altercare. other than that it was a great experience. big shout out to Megan, Emily, Tina, I think her name is pearl , Cheryl (the nurse) Mary an kelly the therapist an there are a few others I can't rember their names. but you all make this place a great one thank you . keep doing what you all are doing much love to you's
