Your staff is very friendly and helpful. But there appears to be a staffing issue on the weekends...skelton crew. My friend had to wait over an hour to get help to get to the bathroom. That's really not acceptable. But your staff can only help so many people. Your physical therapy staff are wonderful. I got to meet them and that there are two young women who assist my friend. They listened to my friend's needs, and worked accordingly.
I have been in this facility about 3 times to visit a patient of mine as I’m a Hospice worker. I am truly impressed . As I walk into the front doors receptionist always greets with a good morning and a smile and the facility doesn’t smell like others I’ve been to. It smells clean fresh and is clean. My Patient is well taking care. I don’t know the staff there But I can see how my Patient is clean well dressed and staff very helpful if I need anything. Good place to have your loved one. One pleased CNA
I am a long-term care resident here. The staff has done so much for me to make me comfortable, especially because I'm only in my fifties. This is a place that feels like home away from home. The Director of Nursing has always listens to what I say, and she's a good friend. The Executive Director is obviously someone who cares about us while at the same time trying to take care of the business side of things. When I first got here a few years ago the old Executive Director had retired and the old Director of Nursing was gone, too. Things were not going well when it came to leadership at that time. I decided to stick with it because I've seen what a good place this is when I have been here short-term for therapy. Now that we have our current ED and DON taking care of us, it's obvious that things have turned around. Life Care Center of Tucson is coming back strong when it comes to leadership and the staff who treat us like family. I always said that if I needed permanent long-term care, this is where I would want to go, and I'm happy to be here now. It's clean, there are tons of activities, and now they're trying to increase the quality of our meals. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else for the long term. If you're looking for a place for someone in your family, Life Care Center of Tucson is a good place to start looking.
My dad is currently there and the nurses and staff are super friendly. Thay have great communication always have updates. Everything seemed to be very clean. And you can actually see that they take their job serious. The care and love that they put into it is definitely outstanding.
Do not send your loved ones here. From having no medications the first 24 hours and being in severe pain the entire time, to lack of response to call buttons, to it taking up to 2.5 hours to get a requested painkiller or even something as basic as clean towels and bed linens, it seems no one cares at all. I was sent there for 3 weeks of wound care. I got no care. Someone from wound care came in a whole 4 times in those three weeks and all they did was put a little yellow cloth over my wounds, which fell off as soon as I moved. It wasn't even medicated. I told them when I came in that I'd been given Juven to promote healing at the hospital and was told they had something similar and would see that I got that. I never got it. I mentioned the lack of care to a nurse and was told because I was in an odd numbered room, my wounds should be looked after by the night shift nurse. That did not happen even once in the 3 weeks I was there. Took a day and a half one weekend for someone to take a bloody towel out of my room. Another day, it took 12 hours and me asking 4 people to get a bloody bed pad replaced. Another day they came in to change the bed linens, put on the fitted sheet and left the rest folded on the bed. I finished making the bed myself at 1am so I could go to bed. The food is decent, but being a diabetic, I need sugar free and they insisted on sending me pancakes, french toast and sugary syrup for breakfast, refined sugar for my coffee, when I told them every day I need artificial sweetener, and I won't eat pancakes and syrup. Took 2 weeks to get a "no beef" notation on my menu preferences, and they never did put a diabetic notation on it. Beverage options were dismal as well... coffee, tea, or sugary Kool-Aid type "juice." Basically, they just don't care enough to pay attention. I get the feeling the entire staff suffers from severe burnout and they just don't care any more. Sadly, the patients suffer for it. Thankfully, I am home now and getting wound care - complete with bandaging and medicated ointments and such - 3 days a week. Something I should have gotten at this facility and did not. I could go into more details, like the two times staff snapped at me because I was upset that I was in pain and it had been over an hour and a half from the time I'd asked for a pain pill. "Why didn't you ask when I was here before." Because that was 4 hours ago and I didn't need it then. Anyway... don't leave your loved ones here. I thought they did a good job for my mom eleven years ago. They certainly failed to care for me in 2025.
