QUINNIPIAC VALLEY CENTER

I love Quinnipiac Valley Center and the staff attends to all my needs and wants. I commend Kyle, Michelle, Tracy and Maria and the whole entire staff for their countless efforts in making me feel like home. The cleanliness is top notch and the rooms are beautiful. The food is real good! Wallingford is a good place to live. If anyone is looking to receive amazing care, this would be the place.

One of the worst experiences of my 52 years! They were ill equipped and lacked sufficient water and supplies for covid-19 unit. Left gasping for air while begging for an inhaler. Running out of drinking water. Moldy smelling bathroom with only boiling hot water. I was supposed to be using a cpap machine. No one ever figured out how to use it. So I just used oxygen. The food quality was horrendous. No heat some nights. It was a nightmare. I can't even walk into a hospital without anxiety anymore. Being lied to or ignored on a regular basis. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. The only saving grace was Michelle and Kyle. They helped me get through the ordeal. The picture of food was Thanksgiving and it was ice cold. A rash I developed there and the best my room ever managed to look. Should have gone straight home and gotten in home care. They deserve zero stars. Update: Repeatedly calling billing. Requesting an itemized bill. Still no call back after leaving my name and number. No problem contacting me when the bill was due though. Also why is the receptionist asking why am calling billing?!😡

Would like to give no stars if possible. Thank god they are closing this place down. They basically killed my brother. He had a terminal illness where he could not move or speak. He could communicate via computer keyboard where he would leave us messages about the treatment he was receiving. The staff was told repeatedly that he had to be kept in a sitting position or he would aspirate on his own saliva. He would send us e-mails telling us they would leaving him in a lying flat position which would cause him tremendous anxiety as he felt like he could not breathe. After we caught one of the aides doing this we had to talk to management and forbid this aide from providing services for him. I went to visit him one day and found him hanging out of the bed sideways. He had aspirated at that point and was struggling. After that he was moved to hospice a few days later and passed away after being at hospice for a day and a half. He was at this facility for six weeks and during that time was only bathed once even though we asked many times to have him bathed and would pay extra for it. He was at hospice for a day and a half and was bathed twice while there before he passed away. This was a horrible place where the staff basically tortured the patients. Hopefully they will never open again and be heavily fined for the lack of treatment they provided to people who needed and depended on them. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

My mother was at this facility and the place is terrible. All the staff is rude, the place has old furniture and looks dirty. My mom needed help several times and needed to go hospital and know one ever called an ambulance until we called several times. Family had purchased several personal new items for my mother and after she got back from hospital the items were missing. Will never recommend anyone to this facility. It was misery for my mom. We had to take her out of there. She is better staying home with relatives. Would rated - 5 stars.

Our experience at Quinnipiac Valley was not a positive one. My mother was sent here after being discharged from the hospital due to COVID complications. She was on the COVID floor for most of her stay. The nurses were very nice when they were around, but most of the time she was left alone for hours on end. Clearly understaffed. The first time PT came to work with her was on day 5. There were no phones in the rooms, only one mobile phone that is shared with all the other patients on the floor. Trying to get a hold of her was near impossible. As a matter of fact, trying to get a hold of anyone there was almost impossible. I was never able to get any updates on her progress. She was never given a formal discharge plan. I couldn't even get a return phone call from the Director. Once moved to the non-COVID floor, things got worse. Still no phones in the room, only a wall phone out by the nurse's station. She was put in a room with another patient, but her side was missing a TV. She literally laid staring at the walls for days. How this establishment is called a "rehab" is beyond me. My mother got the best therapy once she was able to leave there!
