Our grandmother is recovering here after open heart surgery. Every time we speak with her she talks about how nice and friendly all of her caregivers are. She specifically mentioned Tasha, Becca, and Melissa as wonderful. She always says she is comfortable and content. They even got her balloons and made a banner for her birthday! She is always clean and in good spirits when we visit. When we walk down the halls, the staff smile and wave.
I'm not a patient there. But my fiance will be tomorrow. Just knee replacement surgery and it's taking her a little time to recover. But I'm not writing this review because I'm the pushy boyfriend. I'm writing because I'm a retired veteran and retired truck driver. And I pay close attention to details. Based on referral from Lexington Hospital. I will expect you to live up to those compliments. I expect her to be treated kindly and respectful and with dignity. She is a retired ICU/ER nurse. And I will expect her to be treated the same way she would treat her patients.. Really looking forward to meeting her care folks and the room she will be in. If you have a private room. That will be the choice. One last note. Are service animals allowed on campus. She does have a service dog named Luna. She is a Husky. But very gentle and well mannered. That's all I have to say. Thank you.
Therapy is very good. Nursing services are subpar at best. No skin issues on admission but developed a pressure sore within three days no shower for over a week. Call light takes over an hour to be answered and is frequently just turned off without needs being addressed. Walked in to find my loved one soiled through to the bed many times and she was continent on admission. Rooms were not cleaned and garbage on floors frequently. Apparently infection control is not a priority. There has got to be a better place to put your loved one
My mom was in a semi private room for 46 hours and I brought her home. I was very unhappy with there protocol. My mom was there for PT after a cervical spine surgery. She could walk with walker but they wanted her to remain in a very small bed with no railings and she feared she would fall out. They also wanted her to use a bedpan and stay immobile until the following day until she could be “evaluated “. When they saw she wouldn’t do that they insisted she stay in wheelchair. Next day all they did was walk her down a hall once then back in wheelchair. Her progress was being hindered by there lack of interest. Next night she had to get up unassisted to use restroom bc they waited to long to respond to her request. TVs are on wall sided by side in shared room with no way to tune other patients out. Place is very outdated and some of staff does not look professional. On a positive note the food was very good but I would not leave my loved one in a semi private room with this agency. Private room status may get better care as that has been my experience in past years with other loved ones but this was a very upsetting and less than satisfactory care for my mother.
Staff is about the same as any other care facility. CNAs are never available, patients wait an hour plus for assistance even with help light constantly flashing. You have to try and flag down or actually tackle an employee for help. You definitely don't get what you pay for- and it's only gotten worse in the last decade.
