I am currently residing at Legacy at College Hill. This was my first skilled rehab stay and I was apprehensive not knowing what to expect, but as I got to know the ways and people I settled right in. I am thoroughly enjoying my residence and here are a few reasons why. The skilled nurses are warm, friendly, and caring. They give excellent service in a sensitive way that makes me feel safe and at peace. They attend to me with great skill and listen to my concerns about my health and well-being. The nurse aides are very attentive and help you with any need you have. They listen good and help you a lot. They are very nice! The physical therapists know their job and explain, in detail, exactly how to show you how the equipment works and how it will help you get back to your well-being. They know their job. It's even fun! The food is as expected, mostly very good, sometimes not. It's hospital food, you will like it as I do. Let the food service director know what you like or don't like. The medication nurses know what they are doing very well and are bright and cheery, very precise and concerned of any issues you may have. The housekeepers are good at maintaining your room, bathrooms, floors, supplies and such. What can I say, other than, it's an older building but it's kept clean. They have fun activities, such as, Bing-bag toss, BINGO, balloon volleyball, arts and crafts, gardening, and even a water balloon fight outside! The other residents here are friendly once you get to know them. They appreciate a warm smile, a hello and general kindness you give them. The staff will make you feel welcome and give you the care you and I need. Give Legacy a try, you won't regret it!
Most of the CNAs here on first and second shift refuse to do their jobs to the point that they won't help the residents use the bathroom. The nurse named Liz on second gets passed if the residents request anything. The CMA refuses to tell you which meds he's giving you or even testing to verify you need them. If your elderly or disabled individual has a choice, choose not to come here.
This place is filthy and has a horrible odor at all times. They do not take care of the patients and neglect them! They steal the patients personal belongings and let them sit in soiled diapers for hours! The rooms are not cleaned as they should be and the patients are not showered as should be either! I reported several things to upper management regarding my concerns about this facility and nothing was done to change the issues. The staff is not on the same page either when it comes to patient medication or the care they are receiving or for what. This place is a mess and poorly managed! I truly feel sorry for the patients that are here! I would not place my worst enemy in this facility! If you have family in this facility you should have them moved elsewhere so they can be cared for and treated as they should!!!
Poor patient care. Lack of communication action with families. I feel this is the kind of place that gives nursing homes a bad name. I personally feel they are the reason for my loved ones decline and eventual death. My family is devestated. How do these people live with themselves. Undisclosed hospital visits. They need shut down!!!!!
My mother was at this facility for only a respite stay, which is consisted of 5 days. While she was there she has had two visits to the hospital by EMS and to which us as the family were not made aware of the transport or that there was even an accident at the facility. This last ER visit resulted in me receiving a call from the hospital saying my mother was being discharged and she was needing a ride, I was in shock because I thought she was at the facility, she had hit her head and obtained a busted eyelid which needed 4 stitches. I was not informed. The facility was contacted about the situation and the nurses refused to give us their names. A trip was made to retrieve my mother’s belongings obviously she wasn’t going back, and once again she was only supposed to have been there for 5 days. The staff was extremely rude, refused to let us leave with her belongings even though we are her DPOA’s, they were profiling us , screaming at us , cussing at us. When we should’ve been the ones upset, they completely escalated the situation instead of deescalating and helping us understand what happened. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to my worst enemy, some people really don’t belong in healthcare.
