But the people at Brookdale are so knowledgeable, understanding and kind that it helps not just the Resident, but also the family make that transition. We cannot be more pleased with the loving care and personal attention that is given to our parents. They care about every little aspect of the individual. Right down to the sliced onion on a plate. It’s small individual details like that , that show they care and make all the difference in the world. We are very blessed to have found Brookdale. Mother said .” I don’t want to leave this place .” “ Even my cat likes it here .” Brookdale is more than a senior living. It is Home. A place you can sit back and be comfortable . My dad lives at Brookdale. I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of the staff. CNAs/CMA's/Kitchen staff/Facilities, etc you are amazing! Thank you for the hard work you do. Dad is treated with care and respect. Management and caregivers are always available and responsive. The facility is so clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Brookdale Shawnee.

My 90 year old Mother lives at Brookdale in Shawnee and loves it! The staff and caregivers are always attentive, gentle, and loving to her. It is a beautiful facility with a lovely dining room, fireplace and books in the common area. There is an outside yard with a grill where the staff does cookouts, raised flower beds where the residents can plant flowers, and a colony of live turtles they can watch. The cooks, Chris and Justin are fantastic, and make the meals from scratch - they don't use canned "glop" found in lesser quality care facilities, so the food is great and tasty. Plus, they come by with snacks every evening such as fresh fruit, cookies, cake, pudding, Chex mix, etc. Last week they had Family Night and we were all treated to a huge cookout of burgers, hot dogs, chicken breast, several salads, watermelon slices. They even had horse-drawn carriage rides! Mom's medications are handled and dispensed superbly. She is truly treated like "family" at all times, and I would highly recommend Brookdale Shawnee if you are looking for an outstanding care facility for an elderly family member.

My dad has been there for 2 years. He is happy there, the staff is friendly. the facility is always clean. in fact, it looks more like a hotel than a nursing home. Management is always attentive to any concerns i may have, and have always tried to seek a speedy resolution to any request.
