The Villas is truly my home away from home. All of my grandparents and parents have passed, so I think of these residents as family. That feeling is multiplied every day as I watch the staff here go above & beyond for every resident. Management works hand in hand with the employees to ensure excellent care, extreme love for the residents and provides the nurturing environment these residents need to be comfortable & happy. Villas is surely a place that brings great joy.
So my grandma has been here twice now in the last couple of years. The first time we had some issues. But this time she came for rehab from falling and hurting her hip. They all knew she has dementia and is a fall risk and shouldn't be left alone. Sunday night they had a agency Cna put her on the toilet and I get a call 3 hrs later that she “fell off the toilet” and tore her arm. I get there the next day she has two big bruises and knots on the back of her head, Giant bruise on the inside of her thigh, tore her arm, had bruises on her back. They said she was totally fine. Come to find out she made it to the doorway, hit her head on the sink. The CNA just left her telling her to push the button. SHE HAS DEMENTIA! They had her in PT and she came back to her room so sore. They call me tuesday saying we are taking her to the hospital she's in so much pain. Thought you guys said she was totally fine? Come to find out she broke the opposite hip of what she was originally there for. My mom goes up there to talk to the administration and they did nothing but try to cover their own butts. She went there for REHAB! And breaks a hip there because of their carelessness. No remorse. No responsibility taken. No consequences. The day shift people that actually cared for her (the select few) were amazing. But the administration not so much.
I cannot say enough good things about the Villas. My ex husband had a stroke. After having a bad experience in another facility and basically losing two months of therapy, we were blessed in being admitted to the VIllas. The situation was looking pretty grim in terms of his recovery. The therapy team at the Villas is second to none. They are very knowledgeable and actually care about the patients. They jumped right in and consistently gave him the needed therapy. They went above and beyond. Laverne, Mary Kay and Kris Nathan and all others who worked with us .are outstanding. It is because of them that Kevin is becoming a success story. Susie the head of therapy is the best there is. She supported us through an insurance nightmare. She is a valuable asset to the program. The nurses and CNA's in our experience went above and beyond. If we voiced any concerns at all, it was addressed immediately.Lanika the head of nursing runs a well oiled machine and it shows in the ability of her staff. Lara Bowen and the Social Service Department are the kindest people and very supportive. Lara navigated us through the insurance mess. She is a great asset to the facility. Judy in the business office is top notch and stays on top of things. The activities staff is the best I have ever seen. Vickie and Maddie love those patients. The housekeeping and maintenance staff are on it. The facility is clean and beautiful. The kitchen staff are awesome. Looking out for the patient's needs.I will tell you this, Tia Schoening the patient advocate is exactly that. She is always working to meet the needs of the residents and we adore her. I hope the corporate office realizes just how special their staff is and how the are making a difference in so many lives. We are eternally grateful.
Great staff but not enough nurses. Having to wait 1-2 hours when you request pain meds because the 1 nurse has 3 wings is unacceptable and not safe for the residents. I applaud the nurses for continuing to be pleasant under not ideal circumstances. Need to work on proper food services. Not many meal options and very carb heavy. OT and PT staff were awesome. Facility was clean and decorated nicely. Rooms are nice and big and most have great views. Overall, the experience was tolerable.
Terrible place! My dad was in hospice and the nurses had zero compassion. They let him set in his own bodily fluids for hours on end. Bedsores all over his bottom and legs. He was consistently soaked with urine and his infected feet kept getting worse. The care is absolutely awful! They do not even deserve 1 star review. More like negative stars!
