Brightview Tarrytown

I moved my husband into Brightview this week. Our first Dinner at brightview Tarrytown was a dream. We were greeted by Jenn who introduced us to the beautiful community. The delightful young server was most welcoming on my husband's first day. We had a healthy and delicious dinner of the catch of the day..so simply cooked as we like it. There's always an abundance of fresh fruit and options on the menu. We were most impressed by the entry to Brightview. A very warm feeling that feels like an elegant ski lodge. Many common areas to enjoy. Overall, I feel very relaxed with my decision. We went to sleep feeling grateful and looking forward to the next day.

Staff is very warm and welcoming. Wait staff in the dining room very attentive and caring. Common areas are very clean and nicely decorated. My mother was clean and appears well cared for. On the down side, Mom's room had dirty carpeting, which she says has been that way for several weeks, even though she has asked it be cleaned. I shared lunch with her in your dining room. The quality and preparation of the food was not appealing. All six diners left their food on their plates. Watery, tasteless broccoli soup and greasy, soggy egg rolls were served. Seniors have difficulty with their appetites and appealing food is essential.

Outstanding Care and a tremendous environment of learning and support for our loved family members. I am grateful my Dad is cared for so well here.

The staff in the memory care unit treated my husband with kindness, while still ensuring his safety. They preserved his dignity and granted him autonomy to the extent that he was able to use it. They enjoyed him, and they went above and beyond in their care. Tomika, Cecilia, and Saleema were his special favorites. They knew him so well that even though he had no language, they could tell what he needed or wanted. The unit’s physical surroundings were airy and bright, and I was especially pleased that when the weather was good he always had access to the garden. I am so glad we found Wellspring Village at BrightView.

I visited my friend Bunny Bauer who is a BV resident. It's such a beautiful day we sat out in front in the rocking chairs. She seems content. Everyone there is always very pleasant and the gardeners are doing a good job cleaning up and preparing for spring.
