Woodleaf Senior Care was my first and only choice for a home for my mom. After visiting six senior care facilities in Tallahassee and becoming more disillusioned with each one, a friend from Thomasville recommended Woodleaf. The interior setting and front porch mirror that of many homes. It is cozy, warm and supported with friends and family. It is small enough to not get lost (only 40 residents living here) yet has the capacity to hold various activities for the residents. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of events presented each day. Some of these include country roading, watercolor classes, face hand and foot massages, bingo, various accomplished musicians in-house and visiting, and study groups, etc. I find the daily caregivers loving and always polite and attentive to my mom. The nursing and gerontology staff are always kind and soothing with the residents and their families. The administrated staff with Margaret leading is exceptional. Margaret was by far the most articulate and well studied administrator and was exceptionally compassionate of this stage of life. The residents are thoughtful and well storied. I’m always delighted by their histories and lessons learned throughout their lives. They also welcome newcomers easily. I recommend Woodleaf for your parents or love ones.

Woodleaf Senior Care Recommendation by Nancy Gardner (resident) As a senior survivor after the passing of my husband, I realized that I needed assistance with activities of daily living. Since I have lived in Thomasville, Georgia for fifty-four years, I knew that I wanted to stay in my home community and so I began to research the local assisted living options. After evaluating four local facilities, I concluded that Woodleaf Senior Care was the right choice for me. I have not regretted that decision for one minute. The following reasons support my conclusion that Woodleaf Senior Care was the right place for me to call home. First and foremost is that the administration and personnel are a (five-star) caring and compassionate group of caregivers. Additionally, the residents are friendly and welcoming, creating a compatible community in which it was easy to feel comfortable. The facility itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and inviting. There is a Southern-style front porch with rockers and ceiling fans that invite residents to spend time outdoors fellowshipping and enjoying pleasant mornings and afternoons. A butterfly garden in the central courtyard is filled with many varieties of blooming flowers, trees, and shrubs, all surrounding a lovely fountain. The activities director coordinates many opportunities for residents to interact, fellowship, and develop new interests and talents, or just play. Some activities include: bingo and other table games, movies with refreshments, weekly fellowship hour, arts and crafts, daily devotions, and exercise opportunities. I have especially appreciated having my deluxe apartment and the ability to furnish it with my own personal furnishings. It makes me feel very much “at home”. Woodleaf Senior Care gives me a sense of community and “family”, while also providing me with a sense of safety, knowing that a team of caring personnel are available “at the touch of a button”, 24 hours a day, if I need them.

Woodleaf is a home away from home. After touring around Thomasville, you will only find this feel of home at Woodleaf Senior Living. When you walk in the front door, the ambience is like no other in Thomasville. You will be greeted by friendly people who genuinely hope that you will join us at Woodleaf. A grand piano and grandfather clock stand guard in the foyer. The grandfather clock chimes on the hour faithfully to remind everyone “he” is doing his job.A beautiful living room is furnished as your home might be….sofas, upholstered chairs, mahogany furniture. There is also a separate private dining area for time or meals with family and guests. Throughout the building you will find large beautiful framed pictures much of the outdoors and nature. And in the center of this, is a beautiful butterfly garden. The entire property is well landscaped and maintained. You will be comfortable and excited to know that you will be living in a place much like your own home. Come join us at Woodleaf and enjoy life to the fullest.

Woodleaf Senior Care is a neighborhood of interesting and thoughtful people. The staff supports the community through their caring and capable skills. The residents thrive in this environment and atmosphere because they know someone is there 24/7 to help them if needed. My late mother-in-law called Woodleaf home and now my precious Mother calls it home too.

My father has maintained a ferocious independence his entire life. Shortly before his 92nd birthday, that independence was placed in jeopardy due to a fall at home resulting in broken ribs. With resigned reluctance, he moved temporarily into Woodleaf to ensure he had the care he needed while undergoing physical therapy. As he began his recovery, it became clear to all it simply would not be safe for him to continue living alone and he became a resident. The truth is, we didn’t realize how much he needed assistance in day to day activities, simply because he would never allow anyone to help him - until he had no choice. Having to make decisions regarding the care of our parents is difficult, under the best of circumstances. For anyone going through that process you should know Woodleaf Senior Care is not some “old folk’s home” - it feels more like a luxury hotel, or a five-star cruise. I could share about the beautiful facility, the amazing chef and fine dining, an activities director that keeps the entire place smiling and hustling, the “top shelf” (and I do mean TOP SHELF!) care staff, or the very professional and thorough management team. But those are not the most important things for my family. The most important aspect of Woodleaf for us is the fact that living there is allowing my father to maintain his sense of independence. Woodleaf Senior Care is assisted living, providing as much assistance as needed while still challenging him and allowing him to do all he can. My father is able to enjoy feeling his independence, while the family rests easy knowing he is constantly monitored and has all of the care he needs, with extra assistance available at a moment’s notice, day and night. Without doubt, he is enjoying his highest quality of life, coupled with his highest level of independence possible. I would add that within just a few months at Woodleaf, he looks better and sounds better than he has in years!
