The Gables of Westerville

My mother spent the last 5 months of her life here in the memory unit. She was treated with compassion, dignity and love. The nurses would call with any changes in her condition and worked well with hospice. We truly felt that the director and staff were an extended part of our family and they made these months much more bearable. I highly recommend The Gables! Update: Two years later my Dad moved into assisted living and The Gables has, again, been wonderful. The food is good, the nurses are wonderful and the director is on top of things. I was impressed that the director of nursing, activities director and main director were still the same people and it is still owned by the same company. Update 2: Dad spent his final week here in hospice care after suffering a major stroke. From the director on down to the housekeeping person my Dad (and our family) was surrounded by love and support. I recommend The Gables to all of my friends with aging parents.

I cannot express my gratitude to the staff at The Gables. We moved my Grandmother here after a less than stellar experience at another facility in Westerville. I wish we would have done it sooner. Every single member of staff was nothing short of amazing. They truly care about each and every resident and go out of their way to treat them as individuals. I was also blown away by how my family was treated by the staff. Extremely kind and compassionate. They answered every question we had and kept us involved with what was going on with my Grandmother. I am so thankful she was there, surrounded by so many caring individuals when she passed. The staff was incredibly comforting to everyone in my family in the days leading up to and following her passing.

Mom moved to The Gables of Westerville in mid-July and loves her new home. Both residents and staff are friendly and caring. The residents support and encourage each other and include new residents in social activities. They have many social activities and there is a lot of talking and laughter. The Director of Nursing is fantastic and does a great job of coordinating mom's care with Primary Care and specialty physicians. Nursing staff is attentive and take the time to talk with mom. It is convenient to have Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy sessions onsite and mom is stronger since starting therapy. Everyone from reception, kitchen/dining, housekeeping and facilities is caring, considerate and call each resident by name. Moving from home care to Assisted Living was a difficult decision, but this was the right decision and mom is happy at The Gables of Westerville.

The Gables of Westerville is a relatively new, state-of-the-art, well thought-out senior living community. Smaller in scale than many facilities, it has a very home-like feel and is extremely clean and comfortable. Offers independent and assisted living options, as well as a secure memory unit. My mom suffered and eventually passed away from Alzheimer's, and I cannot say enough about the tender, compassionate and medically top-notch care she received. The staff is unparalleled in their commitment to each and every resident...from management, to medical personnel, to activities director, to chef, to reception desk - these caring professionals make The Gables the exceptional place that it is. My mom's last home was truly a loving one!

My mom moved to the Gables two months ago. This place is absolutely amazing. Every single staff member is so attentive and so pleasant. They have taken such good care of her which has given me such peace of mind. They have encouraged her to participate (we were concerned she would not) and she has been so busy that I don’t call her until close to dinner because I know she always has something going on. The place is beautiful and her apartment is spacious and homey. Being located next to the Catholic Church was a huge bonus for mom. Definitely a 5 star place.
