The basic function of a Direct Care Support Professional is responsible for the implementation of consumers’ Individual Habilitation Plan through the delivery and documentation of services and activities for the consumers’ daily care needs. The Direct Care Support Staff is responsible for promoting a harmonious relationship with co-workers and consumers. Staff will demonstrate a commitment to the principal of respecting and incorporating consumer choice during implementation of treatment plan.
In addition to monitoring and supervision the Direct Care Support Professional also provides hands –on services to clients when providing any of the following services including, but not limited to residential based habilitation, transportation, health care coordination, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, or behavior management.
It is the Direct Care Support Staff’s responsibility to maintain communication with the House Manager prior to changes to the approved schedule of the residence.
