The primary purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to perform various resident care activities related to nursing principles and standards to meet the health, welfare, and safety of the residents. Perform nursing duties and responsibilities relevant to routine bedside nursing care required to meet the physical, psychological, nutritional, religious, emotional, and social needs of the residents, regardless of location, for example: bathing, feeding, dressing, undressing residents, bed making, personal hygiene, ambulation, TPR's, BP's, intake and output, skin care, etc. Maintain simple records as related directly to the resident care plan. Communicate all unusual or serious conditions or incidents or any significant changes to the nurse supervisor. Provide nutritional needs to the residents by feeding residents, providing between meal nourishment, fresh drinking water, reporting eating habits of residents to nurse supervisor, as well as recording food and fluid intake as directed. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Moravian Hall Square's stated mission, philosophy, and values. Practice effective customer service relations with staff, residents, volunteers, and visitors. What do I need in the role of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)? Must be at least 18 years of age and free of communicable disease. High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to read, write, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must have the ability to develop and maintain patience and tact with residents. Continuing possession of certificate issued by the State Department of Health Nurse Aide Certification Program. Basic computer knowledge preferred. Why choose Morningstar Living?
