Caregiver / Home Health Aide (HHA)
Location: Sarasota, Florida
Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN
Reports To: Care Coordinator / Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Caregivers and Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our growing home care agency in Sarasota, Florida. Caregivers and HHAs provide non-medical and supportive personal care services that allow our clients to remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient-focused, reliable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration according to client care plans
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying client living areas)
• Assist with medication reminders (non-administration unless licensed)
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, including use of assistive devices
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social activities
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisors promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
• Follow all agency policies, care plans, and Florida state regulations
• Maintain client confidentiality and dignity at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation (if driving clients)
• Ability to pass Level 2 background screening per Florida AHCA requirements
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Strong communication skills and professionalism
