Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The After Hours Nurse provides skilled nursing care to individuals and families, based on an ongoing nursing assessment of need. He/She plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care through systematic assessment of health needs and optimum utilization of personnel. Provides care and assistance to patients and families during on-call hours.
Professional:
- Gaduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure in the state of Kentucky.
- Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing practice.
- At least one year experience in a patient care position in a hospital, nursing home, or
related healthcare facility preferred.
- Effective documentation skills.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Desires to work as part of a team and willing to represent the principles, views and
mission of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky.
- Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, dependability, and intelligence.
- Must abide by HWKY Code of Ethics, Core Values and Anti-Values.
- Must be Covid Vaccinated or receive an applicable exemption approved by Hospice.
