Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
• Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential
and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirement.
• Make patient visits at their place of residence.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
• Provide client and caregiver health instructions by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
• Report and communicate daily with Supervising Registered Nurse and Physician(s).
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Resolve patient problems and needs.
• Protect patients by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient records.
• Notify the Supervising Registered Nurse or Physician(s) of any changes in client’s condition and needs and of the need for a continuing aid.
Specific qualifications include:
• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current CPR
• Proof of current physical/PPD
• Ability to demonstrate quick response to directions given by Supervising RN or physician(s)
• Minimum one year recent experience working as an RN in a health care facility
• Knowledgeable in home health regulations
• Compassionate with great time management skills
• Valid driver license with proof of auto insurance
• Social Security Card
• Bilingual Spanish, Chinese, Armenian, or Korean desired
