Conflicted review, my heart for the industry in general aches. Not enough competent and specialized caring hands. (In all facilities) As I recognize this is a HARD skill set and demanding job mentally and physically.
Regardless, transparently for those considering this spot for your family, there were A-LOT of hurdles during my family’s stay there, and the discharge process.
YOU WILL have to advocate heavily for any positive changes to happen.
Staff allowed for patient to be unattended and waiting for help off the toilet for OVER 55 minutes. Multiple times. Unsafe. Unacceptable.
They missed her on her “bathing day” due to her being in PT, they just skipped her bath. And told me she would have to wait till the next bath aid was there which is 2 times a week.
The system they have with apps alerting them to rooms needing help is often faulty/unreliable.
Staff training needs to be more specialized with bedside manner and family interactions as well. Staff coming into the room and going out of the room don’t really introduce what their role is, and so when a request is made I was told “I’m not the nurse” or “I’m not the aid” and rather than getting them, or helping to introduce you to them, you just have to keep asking people until you find someone who is job it is.”
I CANT recommend this spot.
The facility itself does seem spacious, it does seem clean, and it is in a location that is convenient enough to locate and visit, the incoming staff/administration is friendly, and they do try to work with your insurance, but this doesn’t seem like enough to recommend the spot to anyone.
During my time there, I also noticed some licensing on the wall/scheduling/other paperwork on the wall, and unfortunately, it looked outdated / not updated.
I wish them the best, and truly, I’m sorry as they seem understaffed.

My mom is there now and this place is horrible. Do not send your family members here.
I called and left the director Josh a message last Monday, again on Tuesday, on Wednesday the front desk emailed him to call me and a social worker talked to him and ask him to call me. Yesterday was a week and I left another message for him, today is Tuesday again and I still haven't heard back.
A social worker set up a an appointment with me (on the phone), my mom and some of the different department heads. It was supposed to be Friday at 10am. I waited all day and no one ever called. I had to call yesterday to see what happened (still do not know why) and was set up for a new appointment today. She said someone would call me yesterday afternoon for the time, no one ever did. I called again this morning and left a message, still no call back nor a time for the scheduled afternoon mean for today.
My mom says some of the CNA's call her names like cry baby and manhandle her. She says sometimes they take over an hour or never show up for a call button. That they are neglectful. She is definitely not getting the care she needs or deserves.
I am still trying to fix the food issues she has for weeks now with no solution, so she is barely eating.
I was lied to about the ride situation for doctors appointments. I brought it up when I found out the laws. I finally got a nurse to acknowledge it.

My mother is currently checked in the facility for rehabilitation. She had fallen and broke a few ribs. So they sent her here. It was supposed to be for 3 weeks. It's been almost 2 months. The nurse lady in charge of the 1st floor has came up with every excuse in the book to not let my mom go. She keeps asking, who's at the house to take care of my mom? How is she gonna get in the house if there's stairs? My mom has 12 kids. She has people to take care of her. And there's another entrance for my mom into the apartment. We told her all this. AND SHES STILL SAYING "NO". My mom wants to leave. She has been crying and begging you guys to let her go. They miss medications. And they're rude!!!! The food is horrible! The plainest food I have ever seen. It's sad. Don't let the pretty walls and pretty pictures fool you. It feels like they're running an insurance scam of some sort.

All in all we were very pleased with the care for my husband after back surgery. This was his 2nd time at Mission; first back surgery a year ago. We requested Mission again because of the care he received last year. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and several remembered him from a year ago. The meals were pretty tasty according to him. Dr Kumar is a wonderful doctor, very attentive. Occupational and physical therapy excellent too. He was there almost a month and don’t regret it at all!!! Very advantageous in his recovery.

Overworked care staff. My father was an item on a to-do list, not a person. The administrators insisted they have sufficient staff, but every person we interacted with during my father's 3-week stay was rushed, frazzled, complaining they were behind on this or that and had too much to do. Some staff members tried to still be kind, but others didn't bother being anything but rude. The rudest person there was the doctor. When my dad was first admitted for post-operative care after a Mitraclip procedure, the doctor spent a few minutes asking me questions about my dad, then yelled (literally yelled) at my dad to eat less salt (which had nothing to do with his condition or reason for being there), and said nothing else to either of us. I never saw the doctor again.
The place is clean and the food is decent, and the PT/OT staff are nice, but you only see PT/OT every other day or so. The rest of the time my dad was either left alone for hours or treated like a chore by a brusque and surly staff. One day there, my brother found my dad sitting alone and shaking all over; his O2 drastically desatted and nobody had checked on him for hours. Took them hours to get his O2 back up to normal. A few days later, he developed chest pains and they sent him to the ER-- then they called to inform me they would either clear out his stuff immediately or charge me extra daily to hold his bed!
If you or your loved one doesn't need any other care besides PT/OT, you might be fine here, but if the patient needs ANY kind of assisted living (bathroom help, vitals, mobility, etc), you will be an item on their to-do list, one that they'll get around to, eventually.
