My father is here for the second time. The previous time was more than one year ago. His needs were less then than now. The staff is not attentive to his needs. He was left sitting in his own urine for prolonged periods of time after not coming to his assistance when called using the button on the bed as he is not allowed to walk to the bathroom on his own. The lack of attention negatively affected his mental state. There were also issues with the administering of medications, primarily the prescribed time between medications was not being followed with caused him to become agitated as he insisted they wait the prescribed intervals.. however it seemed they preferred to dose the. One after the other to expedite and move on. In addition he was not taken to take part in any of the activities increasing his isolation which adversely affected him. Thankfully we were there most days aside from one or two to be with him or his mental state would have deeply worsened. The physical therapist seemed nice, however due to the staffing numbers, there isn't really enough time to properly work with all the patients in the facility.
I was so thrilled when my father was accepted to stay here for rehab after his long hospitalization. I always heard great things, however this particular Spaulding facility did not live up to what was said. Not only was my father barely receiving physical therapy, he was rushed out of here too quickly and ended up at the hospital less than 24 hours after discharge. The CNAs often showed signs of annoyance when he called for assistance and when he hit the call light on accident. My father is young and it was very hard on him to even have to ask for help to begin with. His mental status completely changed during his stay as well. The day we came to pick him up he was on the side of the bed dry heaving and the CNA was rushing him to get up into the wheel chair. It took us about 15 minutes to get him in the car and 30 to get out of the car. He was frail and weak and they said he was fine to go home. He could barely walk at this point in time, and now looking back I should have e refused the discharge. We were so hopeful he would perk up once he was home. The VNA came in the home the next day and was disgusted at the way Spaulding neglected my father’s current condition. I will never ever recommend this facility to anyone. He is now in a different rehab getting amazing care and PT and showing signs of improvement.
My wife was in Spaulding for about a month. I can't thank the staff enough for their efforts and caring. She was in a bad place after emergency surgery and through hard work .compassion and encouragement they helped her recover. The facility is super clean and the food was very good. The attitude of the staff was amazing ! Our family can't thank you all enough .Keep up the exceptional work.
WONDERFUL FACILITY! My mother was recently released from this facility and I cannot say enough great things about her care and rehabilitation. She was a patient on the 3rd floor and everyone was so professional, attentive, patient and kind to her. The rehab team that worked with my mother are top tier. Especially need to mention Shantelle and Alexis in Rehab for all of the work they did with her. Also, special thank you to Bridget, the nurse manager and Quinn, the social worker. Our family will always be grateful to the whole team, including all the nurses, and aids for the spectacular care my mother received. The customer service she received from everyone was amazing. The room was also always sparkling clean. Kudos to the housekeeping staff. This facility sets the bar high for all the others in the state!
This place is clean ,food is good, workers are 100% the best . I would love for all the employees to be recognized for the excellent service. Always a smile even when I was In pain and wasn't very pleasant. I have had a lot of medical problems over the year's so I know when a place should be at the top of the list for rehabs. I would like to nominate all of the Nurses for the Daisy award . I also would like all the aides to receive a special award for their had work. I also want to say the PT and OT receive an award. The kitchen staff and the housekeeping staff for an award also. The staff that also work helping in the office that take care off all the paper work . Thank You, Catherine Murphy ❤️ Room #217 BED B Please consider holding a party of thanks to your employees for such a great experience in rehab. I have been to another rehab that was at best negative 100%
