Morgan was the nurse on the rehab section who was outstanding. He whistles while he works, comes in the room with a smile, is patient and efficient. Also, the dietician has made an effort to accommodate a wheat allergy in the meals. This is appreciated. Our relative was readmitted after a hospital stay. Ibu was so welcoming and made him feel at home. He was glad to return and see him again. Leah was new to us and she was efficient and friendly. She made us feel that he was in good hands. He also liked the gluten free meal.

Here’s a list of points I’d make to the director: Surly, often rude members of the nursing staff. Cheap food with poor nutritional content, tiny portions and unappetizing presentation on the plate is detrimental to building back the health and strength of the patients. Many of the patients are very thin and need to boost their caloric intake. Two televisions in shared rooms and no headphones. Overall sense that most of the staff are there solely to put in their hours and get out of there. And the impression makes me think that the administrators care most about squeezing as much “product” for the least cost - all at the expense of the patients. The over all sense of penny pinching is particularly apparent the case in the food department, but also in the overall shabby, dated look of the place, and the nastiness evident in many (but not all) of the care-giving staffand no chairs for visitors to be comfortable. Stench of urine in the halls is unacceptable. The carpets should be washed daily if that’s what it takes to give the indoor air a fresh, clean smell.

My father had a brief stay at Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Without exception, the staff are caring, kind and dedicated to the patients and residents they serve. Everyone is friendly and professional. To the owners/board: please refurbish/renovate your facility!!! You are doing your excellent staff an injustice if you do not do it ASAP! This is the ONLY reason I am not giving it five stars.

We visited a dear friend today at the Charlottesville Health & Rehab Center. Jessica at the front desk reception is professional and so nice she helped us sign in and gave us directions to find our friend. All the staff were encountered are polite and working hard delivering meals, meds, and smiles when you smile! The landscaping is so pretty, and parking convenient. My friend is in a double room, but the the space arrangement makes, for both roommates, the room feel private. The staff access badges, sign in process, and visiting hours work to make it a safe and secure place for all. Patients are mobile and can go outside and into the lobby area.
