My great grandmother has been at hillcrest for awhile and she loved everyone up there! They took really good care of her and respected her and her privacy. My family loves this place and we are all very very grateful for all of the workers and can’t express enough gratitude to them!
On behalf of Avinell Woodrum’s family we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Danville, WV for their loving care, compassion, kindess, friendship, patience, and comforting presence they so freely gave to Mamaw during her stay there and especially during her final days. Every single CNA and RN that cared for her treated her like family, the environmental team kept her room cleaned and sanitized around there clock. During our stay with Mamaw they came in often and would ask if we needed a drink or a snack, they went way above and beyond for Mamaw and we couldn’t be any more grateful for every single one of them. We all sincerely thank the team at Hillcrest for everything they’ve done for Mamaw and the family. 💐
My grand mother is in this nursing home and is doing quite well before she wasn’t She was in a bed couldn’t move, barely talking very weak. She is now setting up getting in the wheelchair willing herself down the hallway. She has color back in her face she can have a conversations with us, and she lets us know when she’s mad she lets us know when she’s happy she couldn’t do that before. She’s eating where she wasn’t before. She wasn’t drinking. She is now. I can see a lot of improvement. I think they’re doing well. She’s doing well. Very happy with her progress.
This place neglected my dad and wouldn't even clean his mouth and wet his lips when he was dying. They gave him meds by mouth when he couldn't even swallow and he aspirated and ended up getting pneumonia. They didn't call us and let us know until 3 days later, he died less than 24 hours later. My dad had Parkinson's disease and lewy body dementia. No one should suffer the way my dad did. The meds they gave him that he choked on was still caked to the roof of his mouth. We cleaned him when we got there and made sure his mouth was moisten. We asked for a sponge to wet his mouth and they didn't even know where any where at. Do not send your loved ones to this place.
Left my mother in law in bed for weeks and allowed her to use bathroom in bed instead of taking her to bathroom. I had to tell them to take her to bathroom so she could have a bowel movement like a normal human being would. Then she also got a bed sore which turned into a staph infection. Totally disappointed in this place and felt sorry for everyone staying there
