Five stars to Ashley on the Memory Care Unit. My family is so happy to have her as an employee at Harmony to assist in taking care of my Mother. Her strong work ethics and passion for what she does has impressed my Dad and I. Wish the world of assisted living facilities were full of "Ashley's". She certainly puts us at ease when we leave the doors. Thank you Ashley! The Joyner Family

The memory care unit has a high staff turnover, with little to no accountability for the lack of proper resident care. My relative was frequently left unclean, smelling strongly of urine, and often dressed in clothing that wasn’t hers. Staff were unable to say when she was last given a shower—because they weren’t happening. This facility is easily one of the worst environments we’ve experienced in memory care—if not the worst. If you love someone, protect them. Keep them safe at home and invest in private care. We removed our loved one from this place, and it was the best decision we could have made

I’ve had nothing but a great experience for my dad. The caregivers are kind and concerned, the facility is very clean, the food is great as I eat there with dad all the time. Residents are very friendly, lots of activities to do if your family member is so inclined. Church is available, doctor services, to include podiatrist and physical therapy on site…I’m there almost every day and I’ve seen nurses, aides, dining staff and PT staff very sensitive to resident needs…my dad and family are very satisfied.

Don’t be fooled by the recent 5 star reviews. 3 of those reviews are from Harmony executive leadership team, 2 from the actual facility itself and one from a corporate leader. That in and of itself tells a story of an organization with absolutely no ethics. Would you want your loved one in that type of facility? The Executive Director is anything but even close to awesome, in fact she is in our family’s opinion (and we had a family member at this facility for many years) not deserving of holding a nursing home administrators license. During our time alone we had 6 different executive directors in charge. Opportunities and challenges were experienced with each but nothing comes close to what we experienced the last year with the current executive director. Our family has spoken out with concerns around our loved ones care and ultimate passing to the top corporate leaders of Harmony as well as filed state complaints against both this facility and the current ED. Since this is a private facility and not a state run/funded facility there is little to no action the state has the time or is willing to pursue. We feel for the residents and the few team members who have been at this facility for many years as they deserve better. Having to make a decision around long term care for an elderly loved one is very hard. We took that decision slow and were extremely thorough in our choices. Harmony years ago was an incredible place. That has since changed significantly as local ownership was sold and multiple leaders have rotated in over the years since. Please dig deeper than the surface if you are considering this facility for your loved ones. You’ll be glad you did your homework before you sign a contract and begin to experience what real every day life at Harmony on the Peninsula is really like.
