Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Our Skilled Nursing Home Health Agency is requiring a caring and compassionate Home Health Aide to work with a variety of patients in the local area. The Home Health Aide will be responsible for accompanying patients to local doctor’s appointments, assisting patients with personal care and health monitoring and helping to maintain a clean home environment for each patient. The successful candidate will also be required to maintain accurate and updated records on each of their patients.
Responsibilities:
Be able to follow written plan of care to provide safe, competent care to the patient.
Helps the patient to maintain good personal hygiene and assists in maintaining a healthful safe environment, plan and prepares nutritious meals, go to the market when instructed to do so by the Registered Nurse.
Assist the patient with ambulation as ordered by the Physician and approved by the Registered Nurse.
Report any changes in patients mental or physical condition or in the home situation to the Staff Nurse or the Aide Supervisor and Prepares a visit report promptly and incorporates same in the clinical records.
Job Conditions: *
Be able to drive and be able to access patients' home which may not be routinely wheelchair accessible are required.
Hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform a physical assessment of the patient's condition and to perform patient care.
On occasions may be required to bend, lift, reach, and move patient weight up to 200 LBS; and lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
Candidate must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, provide fingerprinting, have a vehicle with a driver's license, insurance, and registration.
Be able to use computer.
must have CPR certification and a valid driver license and the ability to travel small distance.
Required education:
High school or equivalent
Certified nursing assistant certificate with the State of Alaska
HHA/CNA with Home Health preferred: 2 years
Required language:
Driver's License/Auto insurance
CPR/First Aid
