My family member was accepted into this facility for Medicare rehab from Prince William Hospital. The care they provided was outstanding as this person needs all daily life activities taken care of for them. Every member of the nursing staff on every shift was wonderful, caring and provided great communication to the family. The administration for the facility is extensive and has a lot of red tape and I will admit that it was frustrating to figure out which department handled which thing. Eventually I was able to make contact with everyone I needed to speak with and all issues were resolved. I was not aware that Birmingham Green works in conjunction with some of the local counties, and in order to live there long term you have to meet certain residency requirements. But for short term rehab, it is a great option.

My mom was at Birmingham Green Nursing home for over 2 and half years. The staff in the Cherry Bloom section in the nursing home was very caring and were always respectful and responsive to her family. I don’t recommend you drop off your relatives and not visit them like it appears to me that most people did. By visiting it shows the staff that you care. The staff is under paid but not under appreciated. Aaron the administrator is especially responsive and caring as well.

Birmingham used to have a bad rap in 10 years ago but we were told it has been redone and new management so my grandmother decided to give it a try. We could not be more disappointed with the standard of care at this facility. When my grandmother would Press the bedside nurse assistance button it would take over 10 minutes each time before any nurse came in and to be met with a subpar attitude doesn't make the situation any better. The rooms are so small I barely had room to transfer my grandmother from wheelchair to bed. There were Dead beetles along the base boards. In general the nurses did not seem like they cared and often had an attitude or seemed frustrated. Each time I called the facility it took at least two phone calls to actually get through and transferred to my grandmother. Often times I would call and either nobody would speak after they said hello or put me on hold and not come back. They definitely need to be trained better and customer service. I would never send my grandmother back to Birmingham green and I would not recommend.

Worse place ever. My mom was in rehab after a fall. When I walked in, the staff was trying to force my moms dentures into her room mates mouth, thinking that they were hers, even thought they were clearly labeled and in my mom's locker. Also, my mom had broken wrists, thought they were so fresh they weren't easy to see on an x-ray yet, but my mom was miserable and in pain because of them. The staff kept lifting her up by pulling on her hands, one aid on each side of her bed. She would yelp in pain and we left telling them to stop. That was when I decided that one of us were going to stay by my mom's side, morning and night, which I did, until we could move her to another place, which we did. They are the worst.

Birmingham Green was an oasis for my good friend with Alzheimers, diabetes and cancer. I am a former nurse and visited Bill often. If not for this lovely facility, he would have had no place to go. Bill lived there for several years. He was first admitted to the assisted-living facility, and when he could no longer care for himself, he was transferred to a stepped-up care unit at a different location in the same facility. There is a very low turn-over rate in nursing and health care staff and most have spent the better part of their careers there. These angels give the best of care to their patients and are family to those whose who have been forgotten by or who have outlived their loved ones. The facility is clean and tidy and the food, though not fancy, is calibrated for the dietary needs of each patient. I took Bill for walks on the lovely grounds, and after I supplied the paperwork to confirm the health of my dog, I was able to bring her with me for Bill and others to enjoy. Birmingham Green has daily activities for the residents, from games to physical therapy. It was a wonderful home for Bill.
