Key duties and responsibilities Assist with personal care: Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support mobility: Assist with transferring patients between beds and wheelchairs, help them walk, and reposition bed-bound patients to prevent sores. Record vital signs: Measure and document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Provide nutrition support: Help serve meals and assist patients who have difficulty eating. Monitor and report: Observe patients for changes in their condition and report any concerns, issues, or abnormal findings to the nursing staff. Maintain a clean environment: Keep patient rooms tidy, change bed linens, and stock supplies. Offer emotional support: Provide companionship and a listening ear to patients. Assist with medical procedures: Help with basic medical tasks and support nurses and doctors with procedures as needed. Transport patients: Move patients between different areas of a healthcare facility.
